Perplexity by noobles Perplexity, is a cooperative puzzle map I started about a month ago. It features some truly difficult challenges that can only be accomplished using the utmost teamwork. You'll have to work together to not only progress through the puzzle, but to also just figure out what the hell you're supposed to do. I should also mention, that this isn't just a map preview, but also a formal invitation to let you guys get your grubby little claws all over it. Why? Because I'm a nice guy, and I also would love to get some honest, unbiased feedback. Now your probably thinking, why don't you put it up in the Tester's Guild? Because Stevo's a tool, that's why. But I suppose if you don't want to give my pearl a test run, you can at least look at some pictures to make you think otherwise. Please note that the pictures are a bit dated, but still cover what most of these rooms look like now. Flabbergasted on Perplexity
The pictures don't really help me see what the map has to offer... All I get from the pictures is that it looks pretty nice. Apart from that, nothing.
These pictures actually only cover the first room (one of the most difficult). I'm only giving a few just to let everyone determine the quality and if they want to give it a try.
You generally don't want your first room to be the most difficult. You want to lead people into a puzzle map. Make the first 1 or 2 challenges your simplest ones so that they can at least make some progress, otherwise they just rage-quit before they've even seen any of your cool puzzles. It's like with any Campaign game. The devs don't make the first level the hardest one.
DO EET! Yeah, seeing as it's my first attempt at a puzzle i didn't really go in with a set track as far as which puzzles I wanted to include and in what order. It's dually noted for the next installment though. The first room doesn't correlate with the rest of the puzzle at all. It was a puzzle I included merely because of the fact that it doesn't connect, so I could design it like no other puzzle in the rest of the map, simply because it didn't have to fit together with the rest. So unfortunately the most difficult comes first, you guys will just have to deal with it this time around.
If it's disconnected from the rest, couldn't you just put in at the end? Anyway, I gave the map a shot. So just to get some thing straight about the map, I'm going to actually use the spoiler code for a spoiler. Spoiler In the first room, this is what I did on my first try. I picked up the custom power up, stopped moving, the puzzled as to what I should do next since it wasn't coming back. I then saw the hammer on the ceiling and used the incline to jump up there. Realizing that I probably needed the CP, I restarted the game. After about 5 retries, I finally managed to propel myself towards the explosive door using the gravity hammer's force. I swung it before the CP's effect ran out and killed myself. Room 1 Completed, yes? For room two, I had no clue. I looked around to get a bearing on my surroundings, and noticed a suspicious looking piece. Walking over to it, and trying to see underneath it's surface, I saw a notable gray blob. Going in closer, I picked up the evade armor ability. By evading up the same odd incline, I managed to pick up a fixed Sprint ability. I figured that I would have to use that ability by switching it for the evade again, but found no actual use for it. Thus I conclude that the first room is not the hardest. The fact that some objects never respawned was very irritating and I saw no good reason for it (though I may be wrong) Good so far, but I just wish I could crack that second room. Edit: Ooh, new spoiler format!
I think I can help solve your problem. This, as stated in the first sentence of the OP, is a cooperative puzzle. Meaning two players aren't simply recommended, they are NEEDED. This is a 2 player puzzle map. No more, no less.
Yeah after downloading I realized it was a co-op puzzle... which made me sadface because I never have anyone online who is willing to run through puzzles with me. Maybe you could be the second person nibs, kind of how we ran through mine.
After playing a game with Pac and Wunder I found some major problems that need to be fixed. If you still want to try the puzzle that's fine because most of it will work, just not the end. I will try to update it as soon as possible.
