Hi This my Covenant themed map called Peril. My focus for Peril was to make a map that doesn't look all grey, but still plays well. Peril supports a lot of gametypes, but was made for 4v4 Teamslayer, CTF, and Assault games. It also plays well on regular slayer which I found out by playing some FFA matches. To start off here is a FFA gameplay video of Peril. YouTube - Reach Map-Peril Needle Rifle x4 Needler x2 Fuel Rod Gun Plasma Pistol x2 Concussion Rifle Plasma Launcher Focus Rifle Plasma repeater x4 And screenshots... Heres an Overview shot of Peril. This is the middle structure. The shields in the door ways provide cover, but also give off a covenant feel. Above the middle structure is where the fuel rod gun spawns. Fuel rod spawns every 3 mins with 5 shots. This is where blue spawns And here is Red base For both of the bases I wanted multiple ways to get in and out so both bases have 2 paths that lead you away from the bases and toward the middle, however if you want to take a quick, but exposed way to the middle you can take these elevators. Blue elevator and Red And here are some other picture if you wish to view them. Spoiler Sideshot of middle. Hammer spawns under red base Another screenshot of Red Base Actionshot Criticism Welcome Good and Bad
Wow is this your first map! very original in terms of design I for some reason love covenant stuff probably because its purple xD Anyways I'll download
Nice to play a map that isnt just grey and white. I played it with some friends on FFA and it gets realy frantic. Great fun and very original. Also very well forged.
An interesting map, to be sure. I like that you used the big rock from Pinnacle; not many maps make use of that section of Forge World. Also, aesthetically, this map is pretty nice, but there are a few too many objects adding "clutter" in places. Not a huge deal, just a tiny suggestion that maybe you ought to simplify things a bit. My only real complaint is about the Fuel Rod Gun... I find that it doesn't work very well in competitive maps (unless they are very large and open) because of its slow moving projectiles. Nice work. Keep Forging.
Thanks for the suggestion and I was already going for a real simple map that just played well and got a little side tracked. For version 2 ill definately simplify the bases to make them less of a base and more of a weapon path where battles will go on. And about the fuel rod gun I really feel like its the main power weapon on the map and if I took that away the action away from the middle. Again more feedback not just on the fuelrod gun, but the map as a whole would be helpful.
