    about:
Outlast is a new Infection gametype I've created. It is a throwback to Call of Duty: World at War's **** Zombies mini-game. It utilizes Weapon Purchasing, a unique Barricade system, and hectic gameplay.

Check out the original Outlast map, Archetype, here.

    map creation guidelines:
Here are some general guidelines for making an Outlast map. These outlines must be followed for the gametype to work properly.

    • barricades
The Barricade system in Outlast is unique, and every Barricade should be made the same way. Infected can simply hold forward and 'barrel over' the Barricade, and the Survivors cannot escape.

The materials used to create a Barricade should be:

Your door (upside-down Brace, Door, etc.)
      Sandbag walls
      2 Portable Shields
      1 One-Way Shield

The One-Way Shield should be placed in the center of the Sandbag Walls, so it is almost non-visible, with the red side facing the Survivors. The two Portable Shields should be set to Phased, and low enough so the Survivors can shoot over, but the Infected can not walk over.
    • grenade spawns
Grenades are the currency system for the Survivors in Outlast. Grenade spawn locations should be marked and designated (usually with a Teleporter Frame) and placed in a centralized location on the map. Grenade spawns should be set to a respawn time of either 15 or 30 and not placed at the start. Grenade spawns should also be used sparingly.
    • weapon stores
Weapon stores are an essential ingredient in the Outlast formula. Weapon stores are made using the following:

      4 1x1 flat blocks
1 Fusion Coil (set respawn time to 3)
1 weapon of choice (set respawn time to 5)

Use the blocks to create a box as such:

The Fusion Coil is to be placed in the center of the box, with the weapon sitting on top. Be sure to make the front 1x1 block (the one facing the player) to be high enough so the player cannot shoot the Fusion Coil. The featured weapon should also be displayed overhead for a player's viewing.

Weapons that you would want to consider for an Outlast map are:

      Basics:
      Assault Rifle (2 extra clips)
      DMR (0 extra clips)
      Shotgun (0 extra clips)
      Magnum (0 extra clips)

      Power:
      Sniper Rifle (1 extra clips)
      Grenade Launcher (5 extra clips)
      Rocket Launcher (0 extra clips)

No Covenant weapons should be placed in a weapon store. Power weapons should be used sparingly (if at all) in the map. Weapons should also have very little ammunition in them.
    • random boxes
      Info and how-to soon.
    • instakill
The Instakill Power Up in any Outlast game is the Custom Power Up. Instakill should be set to a respawn time of 180, without being placed at the start. Instakill should be at a centralized location in the map, and should only be placed once.
    • enclosed space
Every Outlast map should be in an enclosed space, letting the Infected roam freely and enter through Barricades only, but trapping the Survivors inside. You generally want Barricades to be very visible and defendable for the Survivors, but at strategic entrance locations for Infected.

Okay... wow... best **** zombie game to date. I love how not only do you give accurate tips on what to do and how to create it, but you already have a map to use as an example. The presentation is good and the game looks fun and... well fun! DLing right now! View rating: 10/10 play rating to come soon!

Nice. I'm glad you decided to take my advice on hovering weapons over their respective boxes.

Okay I see some improvements. First off, you should have the Plasma Pistol because it represents the "Ray Gun". Second I know how to make random boxes but you never filled it out.

You make a bok with 2 1x1 flats, 2 2x1 flats. Fill it with different weapons making sure they are placed over each other so that you see guns kind of combined. now cover the random box with 2 upside down reciever nodes so that you can't see the gun you getting. and you have a random box.

How do you allow weapon pick up without humans picking up dead zombie's energy swords and just owning with them?

There really is no way to prevent that. The only way to (sorta) prevent it is to have the zombies spawn with an undesired weapon (like a pistol with no ammo) and set their stats to no weapon damage and only melee damage.
