So I'm making a multi-layered building(because I'm stupid), and I'm finding out that making a flat floor/ceiling is hard approaching damn near impossible. So I must ask, oh great people of forge hub, any magic tricks for making this slightly more possible? tips, tricks, w/e? thanks
Use blocks or something to make everything level. But make sure everything is level, otherwise if something on the 2nd floor is uneven, the thing ontop of it on the third floor will be uneven. There's also the save while holdng something then quit to float method, but it's not very accurate and will take a longer time.
Well, I also have been creating a multi-floored building so I know where you are coming from. If you are using sandbox, I have a technique for you. Once you get part of the floor/ceiling placed, use a couple tin cups on top hanging over the edge to hold the walls or whatever flush against the other floor/ceiling. They can hold the walls magnetically so you don't have to save and quit. Hope this helps.
I always have a notepad by me for recording measures. Use certain measures (i.e. two boxes and a column) to lay the floor, and be consistent. One handy little tip: a tube piece facing vertically, with a wall on top of it, will be the same measure as a box.
