Ferrex said there were more Custom Powerups (CP, lololollololol) than before. Not to mention Active Camo and Overshields. They're still there.
Yeah that would really suck if you were to make a big infection or invasion map. But, if you're like me, and mainly forge Competitive/MLG maps, then this really wouldn't really be a problem. O.O Unless I want a BTB map! Then in that case, that would really suck.
No, he was saying you could have more of the yellow custom powerups. So we can spawn more than 4 on the map in other words. He later confirmed in another Q&A that there is still only the yellow Custom Powerup, and no extra ones or anything. There are still overshields and active camos too though. Hey Stouf, you should see my new Distortion ideas in one of the threads in this forum! I've been thinking of new ways to spice it up with the new tools we'll have.
Sweet! I am glad that I can finally build Adaptation (multiple tilt angles in a chiron map) without all of the bugs it had in H3... Having tilted teleporters really screws stuff up.
Theres only going to be 1 CP, nooooo, i thought there was going to be CP (1), CP (2), CP (3), and CP (4)... but i have come to learn that there are only 4 total CPs. haha this ruined my day.
I guess we've never suffered HUGELY from the single variant in Halo 3, but at least we can place more of them. And you never know, reach's infinitely customisable game options might make them fairly obsolete.
I would assume because its easier for the skulls to change game settings. Custom powerups have to be picked up, and then they change all the settings for one person. Then they have to stop when the player dies or picks up something else. Skulls act like a template, have a predetermined time they kick in, and affect everything equally. Much simpler. It may also have something to do with trait inheritance. When one person picks up two customs, what happens?
The one you picked up last overpowers the one that you picked up first, kinda like what happened in halo 3
Why would there be any need for 8 powerups? that is seriously unnecessary. Im gonna stick with my guess of four.
And you expect people to remember which powerups do what while playing? Blue and Red are classics, but I doubt the average player could remember if picking up Green after getting Gold is a good or bad thing. I could use 8 powerups, especially with class-driven gametypes that can't be fixed by loadouts alone.
Oh sorry, i overestimated human intelligence. Seriously bro? If it meant that much to gameplay you would be able to remember which one i had or take a wild guess judging by how fast you can run, how high you can jump, how much shield you have, or how much damage you can deal
I do see both of your points, but i think bungie just assumed that it would be easier for the players to just have one power up because of the (no offense to anyone) not so smart players, or the players who would get confused if there were more than just one power up (other than the obvious oversheild and camo) Unless of course. they do have 4 power ups, all custom, Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green. This would make it more fun for us forgers because it would give us more power ups to work with, but again, possibly more confusing for the players.
Pssh you guys are talking about Red and Blue and Yellow like everyone knows them lol. It wasnt until recently that i got them straight! But i always relate Yellow and Speed increase because thats what it normally does.
lol, Death nooooooo, silly noob, understanding colors is for pros! <3 Just kidding But yea i didnt get they for the first like 3 months of playing. I was like...WTF DOES THIS ONE DO AGAIN?!
Ferrex has said more than four are place-able, Bungie usually goes in intervals of two, favoring 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32. Don't make me dig for proof.
