I am currently working on a recreation of my map The Ocho from Halo 3. I have been working on it off and on for around a month and the layout is pretty much done now. The map is completely symmetrical but I have done my best to make it easier to distinguish between each side. The original Ocho in Halo 3 had a really simple layout and the gameplay was fast paced. This new version is a little larger and has more paths and will hopefully have better movement throughout the map. I also wanted the map to be aesthetically pleasing without sacrificing gameplay. The name Ocho Dos is more of a codename right now, any suggestions are welcome. I will submit this map to the testers guild as soon as I am finished with the respawns and weapon layout. Pic time!

Your first picture is very impressive. It certainly entices me to look around further. I also like how you used the brace tunnel as coverpoints on the walkway in the second picture. The rest of the pictures don't tell me much but in the third I have question; can you use the strut stand there to jump to the next level?

If you can't, consider it to open up flow a little. It may work wonders.

Nice, The Ocho was one of my favorite maps from Halo 3, I really hope it makes the transition into Reach smoothly.

It looks really good... I never played forged maps at all on H:3

Not sure if this is a problem because I haven't played the map, but on the left hand side of this picture you have some bridges with railings. Most people don't suggest railings like those because they constrict movement. If you flip the bridge upside down (and possibly merge another one under it for a nicer look) it will give the player a little bit more breathing room. Obviously I could be very wrong if the distance from that walkway and the ground is a much larger height than I think.

    Is there any framerate lag?

The first picture makes me think there will...

I had the same thought. That's a great centerpiece but it looks like there are a ton of objects involved.

Yes, you can jump from the strut to the window.

Thanks Benji. It will be a bit different from Halo 3 but you'll still feel right at home.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will consider making that change.

There is only the slightest bit in forge mode from 2 angles, and I will most likely end up making some changes to the centerpiece.

I remember seeing the ocho before, never actually got to play it though. Anyhow, how about Ouroboros? Or eight in a different language like German (in German it is acht)

So I made a few changes that were suggested here and got the spawns and weapons set up. Testing thread is up here.
Also you can dl it from my file share here.
It is currently set up for TS, KoTH, CTF, Headhunter, Stockpile, and Oddball. Give it a try and let me know what you think.
