I'll get straight to the point. I was forging on the ground of sanbox. I tried to merge a red column into the ground by surrounding it on all sides, interlocking it with a column above it and then double-tapping A on it. Oddly, strange things started happening. Sometimes the objects didn't spawn until I saved and quit. The most odd thing was that the lower red column couldn't be picked up (the reticle didn't turn green over it). In other words, it had become part of the map geometry. Anybody know anything about this, or how it can be exploited. Am I the only one who's found this? Discuss...
If it was a default object, then that is why. The default objects are buggy, don't use them for merging as they don't disappear when you set their respawn at stert to 'no' and start a new round. Bungie are annoying like that; they secretly hate the fact that we can glitch to make a map better, so they don't want us to do it.
I deleted all the original items except spawn points from my the canvas i'm using, because the only other "Spawn points only" canvas was budget glitched, and I don't want to use that for my map. If you are making a map for the forgotten treasures map pack, or want it to be considered for Matchmaking, you probably want to use the same type of canvas. You won't run into the OLN, I promise.
Yeah I've started doing that. It was a default object. If Bungie don't fix this bug, my all-consuming love for their products may begin to dwindle. I doubt they did that on purpose though, otherwise why didn't they do it for all the objects??
