Hello, I joined this site a little while back, picking up some forge tips and the like for my map. I don't have any maps that cost money yet as I'm getting them with ODST, so obviously most of my work is at Foundry. However, I've ran into a small problem, namely creating a platform of boxes along every bit of the walls. The map I've been trying to make for several weeks now includes a ring of upside down closed double/single boxes all along the outside edge, partly merged into the steps on one side all the way around to partly merged into the steps on the other side, with the boxes geomerged into the Foundry walls so no grenades or anything like that can slip between the boxes and walls. The map also calls for the same on the inner wall, from platform to platform. Unfortunately, I just can't get it to work. I'm using the proper door techniques, but it always ends up crooked beyond repair at my skill level, or it falls through the wall/ground after having a seizure. Honestly, if I had the time I would keep trying to figure it out myself, but with college I just can't do it. I'm asking if someone could make those two 'rings' of boxes. I can forge the rest of the map, but it's the base foundation I just can't do, but I'd like have something to play around with in forge. If I manage to make a map good enough to put my file share, I'll give the forger credit if that's an issue. If this is the wrong place, please go ahead and lock topic. Thanks.
I can't help you on that one but if you check out the Forging 101 section i'm sure there would be some great tips there!
Try the new geomerging technique. YouTube - How to make any Immoveable Object No-Clip Here is the video on how to do it. Makes geomerging waaaay easier.
Instead of grabbing the box and letting go quickly to geomerge, grab the box and wait 2 sec and save the map/changes and go back to it. It will insure that the box won't freak out and sink into the wall.
Use the above video. I've memorized it in like 2 minutes, then each box takes around 30-40 seconds. It's very very simple and easy.
Well, I defiantly somehow missed that video......probably not enough lurking. I'll try that instead, thanks. EDIT: Hey, is that Zero-G floating box glitch that can happen using the no clip glitch known about?
