Map link: Nostromo Game Variant (juggernaut): Prey Game variant untested and unneeded for play. It is just part of the story that appears at the end. This is a symmetrical map set up for team slayer and FFA. I also have created a Juggernaut game based on the title but it hasn't really been tested. The map is overflowing with tight corners, corridors and trap doors. It is meant to have a claustrophobic feel and there are even some parts that don't look like you can get through but you can. The top floor is by far the most open with only one box and some doors for cover but it there are some goodies up there that you won't want to miss. The middle floor is two squares one inside the other. The lower level is the most claustrophobic with narrow passageways galore. The middle room on the bottom floor is where the shotgun spawns. I set up team slayer for 4 v 4 in a way that the teams start spawns are groups of two. Organization and communication are key on this map or you'll just be lost. There are teleporters and man cannons to help you move through the map sprinkled here and there. The teleporters on the back wall send you to a penalty room so don't even try it. There are some areas that might trap you but I have left ways out of every bad situation so don't fret. Overview of top level Bottom room "Server Room" Middle Halls "Cooling Vents" Reverse angle of the top Things to know: The sniper is at the very top of the ramp though you can jump to it, that is not the intended way to get it there is a teleporter on the bottom floor at the far end. So don't whine when its hard to jump up to it. The overshield can only be reached by using the mancannon in the outer hall of the second level it doesn't always works which makes it kind of a gamble and adds to the danger of going for it. How did you get that movable object merged into the ground it just get shoved down by the fence wall?
yeah I set the barrier to not spawn at the beginning then when it came back it forced its self into the ground. Yeah it didn't initially but when I thought about the most claustrophobic movie that I had ever seen Alien was the only one that I could think of. Alien is how movies are supposed to be made, you rarely see the alien but you know its there watching waiting. Ridley let the audience's imagination create the fear which is the best way to make a thriller. A lot like jaws how you don't see the shark until the middle of the movie.
i know and im glad you appritiate that lots of people tell me that they find it slow and boring but they just dont understand!
These are usually the people that need high stimulation just to get through the day. I think it's a lost art, movies like Alien, that focus on dramatic tension more than blood and gore. This map seems to capture that tension through claustrophobia so I'll enjoy playing it!
