Elites FTW. I have noticed something that happens with it every now and then, though. Sometimes the HDMI cable only works one way for some reason, but it hasn't proved to be an issue lately. Is this something that has happened only to me, or is it not an isolated incident?
I don't use HDMI because I have the console hooked up through my cap card and I don't personally own an HDMI cord (though, if I did, it'd be hooked up to my PS3).
I have my PS3 and 360 hooked up to my TV through HDMI cables. The one for the Xbox actually came in the box with the Elite. Not sure why you didn't get one, maybe they don't include them in American versions? Anyway, I recently got my PS3 and wanted to get a HDMI cable so I could watch Blurays in high definition, but found out they were very expensive. I could have gotten one for around $7, but price is usually indicative of quality, so I sprang for the 5 metre, gold plated, properly insulated cable for around $50. A bit expensive? Perhaps, but I'd rather spend a bit more now than have lax in quality to my visual pleasure.
my 360 slim just imploded: It shattered my bros black ops disc while he was playing, and bits of plastic shredded the eye and much of the inside of the box. We sent it to microsoft to get fixed. We just got an email that said: "We were unable to salvage your damaged xbox due to massive internal issues. A new xbox will be issued as a replacement" XD there was smoke n plastic n disc n **** when we opened up the tray, we already knew it was beyond repair
I wanted to let you guys know that thanks to a very generous donation from a dear friend, I will be receiving a shiny new 4gb slim tomorrow from Amazon This was a super nice thing for him to do because I am still unemployed from being laid off from a failing company and couldn't afford another one. Now to get those maps transferred...
I honestly have not tried that route yet. I'm going to try to get the new one loaded with my data first before I attempt to contact MS about the old one. That way I have nothing to loose. I am really hoping they step up and do a replacement. I have a few ideas in mind for the old one if they do.
You could always give the new one to your friend if you do receive a replacement from MS. Or sell it for profit and screw your friend over. You have a good chance for a replacement though, because you said it was an original launch console. You've got nothing to lose anyway, so transfer your data over and contact MS. You never know, they may even transfer your data over for you if you get a replacement console.
