I feel a bit scammed considering these maps were being made before the game shipped with so few maps. That and the fact the game had just barely came out and a couple of these were taken from the campaign. Remember this picture? Tempest is looking a lot like the unkown map. I'll still be buying this anyways though... Breakpoint looks like it will be a massive and insane invasion map.
I don't think we should have the pay for this map pack, not that the maps are bad but because of the small amount of maps we got when we bought the game.
*looks at the picture of the unknown map, looks back at pictures from tempest, then looks at the unknown map again* oh my god you're right. Tempest is the unknown map! D:
Definitely buying this. I always appreciate new maps. And a new forging map? count me in! But which map is the new invasion map?
Alrighty thanks. I should read closer lol. Anyways, i cant wait to see how Breakpoint Invasion is gonna play out.
I like many others, will most likely end up buying the map pack, but I am extrememly pissed as it is pretty obvious that these maps were meant to be shipped with the game, but did not make it quite in time, so they added a few extra achivements to lure people in.
I think its been rushed. Game releases in the middle of September, Map Pack Releases at the end of November. I was hoping for a forge map. Foundry Size. But oh well. I hate the idea of 2 BTB maps. Im a guy who loves small maps. I'll buy it, but I still feel that its been rushed. Bungie's choice. AHH, I just got 1000 GS for Reach today, and theres more. Oh well, Im gonna need 2 weeks. I wonder if theres a transport falcon. Remember how avalanche had a different hornet. Well could this be possible on Reach. 5 Seater, 1 Driver. No turrets.
what a shock, most of the comments are pointless bitching. Either its not the map type you wanted, its too big, didn't ship with game, or you compliment these maps by insulting the ones we have. Doesn't anyone just enjoy stuff anymore? look forward to it? Say, "hey, cool, some new maps!"? I know of a few of you did, fellow reasonable human beings. Thank you. I think they all look great. I can't wait to explore every inch of them. I'm almost to the end of legendary solo or 49/49 achievements, but oh well. did you really expect that to last? tempest looks purty these types of comments are what I'm referring to he just heard about it, and he's going to judge the map by its screenshots. so sad. AM I THE ONLY ONE JUST HAVING FUN HERE?
The maps were not rushed, seeing as they were clearly already in development before the game was released. The maps look good, and I trust that Bungie will deliver. 800 M$ points really isn't all that bad anyways, everyone needs to just chill. I'm glad they are being quick with the maps, they were incredibly slow in Halo 3.
You've got a good point: a lot of comments are being posted with concerns about the new maps because there is some sort of current underneath the community that has people irked about the maps Reach shipped with. I can understand development constraints, and I am glad Bungie is still giving their un-released maps to us, and so soon. They are also trying to make a profit, so I'm not surprised it is costing 800 MP or whatever. That's how things go sometimes. At least there is more content, content almost 90% of the halo community is going to buy at some point in time.
Apparently not Also to the people who say these maps are being rush - The maps will be released 77 days after the release of Reach, same amount as the Heroic maps for Halo 3, just seems short because they announced it a month and a half early.
hmmm, at least they've put a symmetrical map in it. All i really wanted was a new "the pit" something perfect size for 4v4, perfectly symmetrical and great for gameplay. I guess tempest could be cool but it's pretty much just Valhalla/hemorrhage again. Unless the space map thing has another symmetrical base at the other side of the anti-grav zone... it's another Zealot fail. I don't really reckon much to the last map either. Kinda a disappointment really... but so far in Reach, what hasn't been a disappointment?
The maps do look alright, but the one that i like the most is Tempest is it just me or does it seem farmiliar, to me it really looks like a half remake of relic
Why does everyone think these maps were meant to be on-disc? Clearly they aren't areas pulled directly from campaign, so they had to have been planned to be DLC even before the game was released.
Im not the only one!! I always love new maps and new environments to play on. I dont see how people can judge so much on just a screenshot. And i love achievements so the more the merrier
Well thats just it. DLC should be (or at least it used to be) for extra content but the gaming industry is using it more as a method of indirectly putting up the price of the game and several games are just making DLC out of content which otherwise would have just shipped on disc. £40 for the game, plus £5 every few months for map packs if you want to keep the full online experience on top of your Gold Subscription. There's nothing in the maps themselves which leads us to believe they were meant to be on disc, just that we know they could have been on the disc.
Ummm, Reach. You obviously were expecting a 100% perfect game, which will never happen, you see small problems and call Reach a disappointment? If its such a disappointment, why do you keep playing?
Noble Map pack looks really promising. The Tempest looked really fun map to play, I wonder what kind of Forge toys we'll get! :O And finally, a new Invasion-map! Oooh, can't wait! D:
