Check it out! Opinions? I think that the maps look really sexy, but although Reach does have a fairly small selection of maps, I fear that Bungie may have rushed this a bit too quickly.
Two new BTB maps and from which one supports Invasion makes me really happy. But I kinda hoped for Forge City =P
Drool..... They look really really awesome. Even better than the current maps. I love the settings! And finally more focus on BIG maps.
In my opinion it sucks, I was hoping for some small, competitive maps, but they decided to focus mainly on big maps.
Yeah, but all they did was focus on smaller maps in halo 3. We hardly had ANY larger maps in Halo 3. I'm happy to see the change.
Anchor 9 looks like a 'Hey we have this awesome render of a planet, let's use it in a Map' + 'The orbital area in Zalot works great!' and 'The Giant Wall of the Pit and the possibilities to flank someone in Cold Storage were awesome - Mix' Type of map from the pictures, I hope I'm wrong
This looks like they were working on these maps, were like "**** we're not gonna finish these," and then decided to make the shitty forged maps.
People saying that they look bad are ignorant. Have you played them? No. They look pretty cool to me and i'm betting Tempest will have a nice array of moveable objects.
These do strike me as maps that were being developed and didn't make the release date, but I am happy to get some more locations to fight. One thing I have learned since Halo 3 dlc started coming out is I can't ever get a good idea what the maps are going to look like from their pictures. Therefore, I will withhold judgment until more is released. I am, however, skeptical of the low gravity zone in Anchor 9: Zealot's anti grav areas didn't seem to work out so well in practicality.
I don't think they look bad, I think they look like they were cut from the disc just because its almost a requirement for all games to have DLC, which annoys me. The fact that I knew I'd have to pay more money for DLC which probably could have been shipped on-disc was one of the main reasons I didn't want to pay extra for a special edition at launch. These maps are growing on me, but knowing I've already got Forge World and lots of dedicated Forgers sort of removes any urgency to buy them in case the current maps get dull. Even if the best Community maps are only half as good as Bungie's own, there will still be more than twice as many to play on. Tempest is my favourite though, I kept reading "symmetrical" then checking the screenshots. I took me a while to realise the only difference between those bases was the top half, its vertical on one and horizontal on the other but the bottom halves are exactly the same.
I'm not so sure about Anchor 9 but I'll see how it plays when it's released, but I'm looking forward to tempest for forging and it's different and perhaps larger ground space, although the forerunner theme makes me think they might go lazy and just import forge world's palette to it. I also am liking Breakpoint which looks like a multiplayer version of glacial, which I really digged the look of, plus a it's a new invasion map and (hopefully) a bit better constructed than Boneyard is currently >>
Tempest looked like i really cool map in the picture, but when i saw it was the forge map? FORGEGASM!
