Reach just didn't live up to its potential. To be honest it is the first Halo game I have played on Live where I didn't purchase all of the DLC. Bungie kind of disappointed their fans when they took out many features that we liked in Reach. ODST was a bit disappointing too. Their recent games in the past two years haven't sucked, I'm not saying that, but they just weren't "organized"
i liked odst alot, and aside from the weapon imbalances it was a very solid game even though it was originally only a halo 3 DLC... Reach's gameplay did fall short, to state the obvious, and the fact that they keep trying to relive the past by creating a bunch of old maps from the previous titles and creating a "classic" playlist is testament to that. It was fun in the beta using the AA, but after that it got dull- im not even going to mention the bloom, jumping height/speed, and other factors which changed and the DLC (i completely forgot that's what this thread was about ) hasnt been too great either, even the 343i map pack isnt fun to play aside from the FF map... but the DLC's are great for taking photos on the bright side, lol
Only DLC I've bought was sandtrap(Because I couldn't resist the forging) for halo 3. DLC isn't really that important to me. Honestly I always have an opposite view compared to the entire gaming community it seems like Everyone hated mw2 I thought it was awesome, Everyone hated Reach I thought it was awesome, Everyone loved Black Ops i hated it.
Same here. Most of my former halo 3 friends that were regulars hate reach. I love it. its one of my favorite games ever, I think. I also tend to have the opposite view of everyone. ah well. You're not alone
theres more dlc, just not anything new. its going to be some ported halo anniversary maps when the game comes out. hopefully they will be smart and give us a forge palatte similar to tempests for the h1 maps.
With the amazing response Forge is getting (and the lackluster response Tempest is getting as a Forge map) I wouldn't be surprised to see a new forge map with CEA. I would personally love to have the ability to switch between Forerunner, human, and Covenant palettes on the fly. It would make sense for them to do it like they did ODST, with an extra disc with all the multiplayer on it, and I'd be willing to bet it'll include the Noble and Defiant maps. They'll probably give people the option of downloading just the CEA maps as a bundle if they don't want to buy CEA. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped some new maps sometime in August. It would be smart marketing on their part, with the CEA releasing the following month. *edit* http://halo.xbox.com/en-us/news/headline/the-halo-bulletin-62811/85728 title update!! maybe more maps next?
Frankie confirmed that the entire game is on 1 disc and not like odst with the two discs, so thats how it is- i do think it would have been better to separate the campaign and multiplayer since the mp is reach...
