Nightlife >>Download Link<< Nightlife is a map inspired by (but not built as a remake of) the Afterlife club in Mass Effect 2. I believe I'm the first person to truly take advantage of the object color options added in the Reach forge. I co-forged this map with a friend(who doesn't have XBL) and I believe this is our best work yet. But still, it is a work in progress. It's currently being worked for good spawns and objective placements. The weapon placements are also not final. This map is ideal for 2v2 up to 4v4 games (even 4v4 gets a bit hectic. The map is pretty small). It might even work fairly well for 1v1, but I haven't put much testing into that yet. Anyway, let there be pics! Main room Stage (from main room) Entryway (from the far side of the main room pic) Blue team spawn Blue room (Red team spawn is down the passage to the left) Its difficult to display the map well with pictures, since its so enclosed and built in the coliseum. Its a lot easier to get a feeling for the map by running around on foot than flying as a monitor (IMO). If anyone has any advice for the weapon, spawn, or objective placements, I'm open to hear it. In case you missed it, DL me here
I played on this the other night with a group of people (it was nillapudin who already had the map). Some of the spawns seemed a little awkward. One of the spawn points was in the room that was comprised of the sloped ramps phased into the covie crates. No matter how many times I spawned in there, I always got confused about how to get out of the room. Some of the access to other portions of the map weren't completely intuitive either; there were ramps that just when to ramps that went back down instead of another floor like the player would think. I also feel that there were either too many power weapons on the map or that spawn points were simply too close to them. Other than that, the map was put together pretty well. The combat was quite intense. I also enjoyed seeing that there was compatibility for more than just two teams; it seems like people aren't thinking that some groups like to play multiteam every now and then.
I could find some way to make it more obvious where the exits are to the ramp room, or move the pillar in the middle so you could see the door. That should help alleviate that problem. Are you talking about the room opposite from the stunt ramp room (If you're looking down from the stage, the room on the right, with the two towers)? Which ones in particular were causing the problems? I was worried about how a sword would work on such an enclosed map, and I'm probably going to set the plasma launcher so it spawns in team games only. Thank you for the feedback, I really want to make this into an excellent map
You're not the first person to take advantage of the object colors but you definitely are the first to use it to this extent. That looks amazingly good, but you might want to be sure there is not framerate lag because of the number of brightly colored, lighted, FX'd high detail objects in close proximity. Even despite that this would be incredible to play on.
It's possible. I only played on your map once or twice, so I can't remember every detail super clearly. When I get more time, I'll give your map a personal download and take a look. I just remember spawning extremely closely to the focus rifle and then immediately dying from the person who spawned right next to the sword. I don't remember seeing the plasma launcher used very much.
Focus Rifle? I swear I took that out :| Lol well the focus rifle won't be there in the final version, I thought I'd removed it but apparently not lol.
