Night Shed: The Virus Series 2 (this map is part of a 3-map series all used with the same gametype.) SERIES 1 THREAD: http://www.forgehub.com/forum/casual-maps/100276-barricade.html Night Shed Map Download Link Here The Virus Gametype Download Link Here The second map of my 3 part series has gone underway and I must say, it's small size and close quarters-ness of this map makes it a fun map to play on with all your buddies. Get ready to slash up some zombies and maybe even chomp on some flesh (for the zombies out there) so sit back and see this review and please play this map with friends or download it and check it out thoroughly before you comment. If you haven't downloaded it then, well, why are you reviewing something you haven't played? Night Shed Welcome to The Shed my friend! Welcome and enjoy! And try not to die too soon, cuz you dont get much time before the baddies arrive. The map consists of you, the zombies, and the little fortress your in known as The Shed or the Night Shed. As with the Series 1 map: The Barricade, you spawn right in front of your "weapon class." If you dont know what a weapon class is in this series, we'll get to that soon. Anyways, you get you and your weapons and thats it. Some people said that in Series 1 you could steal other people's classes but this isnt very easy in this map. You spawn spread out in the Shed and not clustered together like on The Barricade. To efficiently grab the weapons in front of you with the best speed simply hold RB then Y then RB again to pick up a weapon, switch, then pick up your back-up weapon. You begin the level with plasma pistols which in testing did absolutley nothing to the zombies so get your weapon and get to where you think you should be. Unlike Series 1: The Barricade, there are no extra weapons on the map so all there is are the classes of weapons so what you got is all you get. As for the weapons you do get, well they get low ammo and don't spawn for another heartstopping 60 seconds of doom so try to conserve and go for the zombies' head. If teamwork is applied, then your ammo shouldn't get too dangerously low and if it does then get a friend to go get some extra ammo. The Virus Fitted for 8-15 players: 5 survivors. The zombies spawn and they are slow for about 2 or 3 seconds and during this time they are also invunerable. Then they're sense of smell kicks in and they hone in on you and your waypoint and they become immensely fast and powerful. In the hands of an experienced survivor, the zombies will drop like flies such as when headshots are aimed for. If you dont get a headshot, they're most likely not about to drop until theyr already eating your face. The humans get no sheilds and no sense of protection. Classically, one hit 'n your a zombie. That's all it takes. So when the match starts, you need to get your weapons because the zombies are coming fast and they can make an unexpected entry. For maximum fun, play this map multiple times until everyone is familiar with it and then you can work a strategy before beginning the round. this really is the only way to go if you want to plan; otherwise, this map is based around in-the-moment action and will test your infection-playing abilities. in other words: it's hard. So dont bother to comment saying that you dont get a lot of time to prepare cuz thats the fun of it Weapon Classes Like stated before, everyone spawns in front of a small weapon pile consisting of 1 primary weapon, 1 back-up, and somtimes a grenade or equipment. And yes these pics are from the Barricade Thread and the backround has nothing to do with Night Shed. So here are your classes. In Night Shed, they will be supported in Weapon Holders to fortify the sense of where you get ammo when you need to make the small trip when your gun's runnin' low. SEMI AUTO CLASS consists of a Carbine, Magnum, and Firebomb. You can actually use the firebomb to ignite more than one zombie so use it wisely. The Carbine has no spare clips so only use it when you feel confident in using it conservingly (is that a word? well now it is) POWER CLASS Consists of a Battle Rifle and a Mauler. The Mauler can be used to duel weild when another one respawns in your weapon class holder to hang on to it and try not to use it. This class also comes with a plasma grenade... "Die Heretic Zombie!" LONG RANGE CLASS Sniper Rifle and Magnum. Here at Series 2: Night Shed you'll find some frags here in this class to help you out since this class seemed lacking in Series 1. Both guns however are decent on ammo so go hog wild and try to be at least moderately skilled with no-scoping. FULL AUTO CLASS An Assault Rifle and SMG are in this class. The Rifle's got some decent ammo and proves to perform awesome in combat. The SMG works great too just use it within close-quarters situations. CQC CLASS The Shotgun and SMG await you. Both of these guns are for close quarters so get to that corner and unload. Don't forget that spike grenade to help you out. The Shed Yes its what you've all been waiting for. And yes it is small but nontheless fun. Dont complain of its size without playing it first, thats where its at. from eariler: the entire level. The zombies and humans can both see vehicles but neither can drive or get in in anyway possible. they're just scenery a simple ceiling cut-out view from above. this is the humans' playing field. plan wisely. a view from one of the corners. the ramp you see from this one leads you up to the loft which is probably where you'll find you and your crew hiding. speaking of the loft, here it is. There's a slit wall to help you shoot from above. Beware of this spot though guys, it could kill you. Explanation of that will come with another screenshot. back down to ground level. another corner view. you can see 2 classes, if you are observant enough, so become familiar which weapon class you have and where yours spawns at. This corner here where the camera is can also be a great spot. No roof-penetrating force could get you in this corner either.... now into the outside darkness; the land of the rising apocalypse. the zombies should become familiar with outside The Shed and by 45 seconds, this ramp will spawn, as it did in the picture, for access to the roof! The zombies can break through from here in a variety of spots. now heres the roof guys. The zombies will probably come through here as soon as they find out about it so heads up to the survivors down there. Here's how the loft becomes dangerous: one of the pallets breaks way for entrance to the loft in this quick route so if you've been in the loft for too long, be prepared to have your ranks thinned. ACTION SHOT TIME complete with actual quotes from testing P1MPxSLaSH: "oh s**t not good, not good! Cover me MAD MAC 1904! MAD MAC 1904: "I got him! Wait... where'd you go?" (I just noticed this, but you can actually see my equipment I had from the last screenshot on the bottom of the ramp in this one lol I got zombie'd) Chuckles 1904: "Yeahhh payback motha F***a" So now feel free to enjoy Night Shed everyone! and remember to play before you in-depth criticize lol but comment or say whats on your mind whenever you want Night Shed Map Download Link Here The Virus Gametype Download Link Here SPOILER FOR SERIES 3 "the facility where the infection began. A Bad experiment gone wrong."
looks very small and compact. mayeb expand the castle and make the castle a little more complex. also the vehicles make it look a little sloppy. my suggestion would be to get rid of the vehicles. expand the castle.
the size, as stated in the first post, is meant to be small is therefore fun to play on which I'd bet no one downloaded and played on. and the vehicles are for scenery and give off a feel of destruction caused by the infection it doesn't look sloppy. This map is well made and I suggest someone get a bunch of buddies together and play on it to get the true feel but please comment and tell me what else needs to be different
