When Bungie became a privately held independent company, it appeared the Halo series would end with Halo 3. This talk was hushed by the announcement of Halo: ODST which we can expect to hear more of in Microsoft’s E3 conference in just less than 24 hours, but there may be more than we expected from Halo at the event. Kotaku earlier reported that a Halo: Reach forum was spotted on Bungie.net which led them to believe that it could be a new Halo title, but a discovery made by Console Monster may just have confirmed this rumour. On an achievement scout earlier today, I discovered the following: It’s been known for Microsoft to create achievement pages for titles that aren’t games, but with the novel: Halo: The Fall of Reach releasing in 2001, well before achievement pages existed, this may just be the evidence Halo fans were looking for, to confirm the existence of a new Halo title. Is that blurred gamertag Whispy? =) Anyways, nice find on the achievement details. I heard about this yesterday and didn't think much of it, but since it's getting an awful lot of recognition, I expect to see some reaffirmation from Bungie soon.
Reach was a planet that was destroyed in Halo I thought? That would mean it is a prequel, and I don't see that being the official Halo 4. Is it another game? Maybe. What if Microsoft is releasing a handheld, and this is a debut game for it? Who knows, but E3 is tomorrow so we shall see.
We don't know where MC is at the end of Halo 3. Aren't they drifting towards a planet. They may be back in time, and it could be Reach.
Anything really is possible, due to the unknown nature of the slipspace rupture at the end of H3. For all we know they could be in a parallel universe. Bungie can do almost anything they want with Halo.
