That's a neat trick guys. I don't suppose there is a tutorial video or guide on how to make the object invisible is there? I understand the concepts but I still don't know where to attempt this on the map or exactly how this is achieved. (not that I wanna steal your secrets or anything

Thread Update... I really want to check out this map and it's shield-door bridge gimmick. Sounds like fun. The map appears to have some nice dance-floor variation, with areas relegated to CQC and mid-range DMR duels. One thing: Could you please put a different piece(s) in the middle of those 4x4 corners in the last pic? That 4x4 flat looks really sloppy in terms of texture-matching and bleeds into the glass. I know you guys can think of something cleaner.
IMO, replace the 4x4 overlapping everything and replace it with something smaller. It just feels out of place. Everything else is impressive, though. EDIT: Lynx beat me to it, so I guess I'm not the only one.
We originally had something else there that looked nicer but was laggy as hell. We could probably change it though.
Lynx & Cluck: As Duck said, we did have something that looked pretty damn awesome (and should be visible in the video) however, framerate comes before aesthetics unfortunately, so it was one of the first things to go at the back of the map. Also, FYI, it's a 5x5 Flat... anything at the size of 4x4 doesn't fit in that gap, so unfortunately, regardless of what we use there will be something overlapped there. Elliot: I believe this is the version... I made some very minor tweaks by adding weapons and grenades etc... It needs proper testing with a 2v2 soon and then spawn system creating.
Bummer, I hadn't realized how the size gap those pieces create when placed like that is kinda ****ed. Oh well, could be worse. Quick question about the map that may have been answered already, but I don't feel like going through 5 pages- Is there a power weapon/up that spawns there at the same time as the bridge or is it just an alternate route that isn't available at the start?
That 4x4 block in the last picture is driving me crazy. Mostly because it doesn't look all that good. Would it be possible to swap it out with something else? Other than that, the map looks sexy. I'll be looking forward to the release.
The whole map looks sick, I'd like to see some more pics to get a better idea of the layout tho. The energy bridge is a sick idea . One thing though, I'm sorry but in the third pic, that block that's set into the 4x4 corners REALLY bothers me. I don't know if that's just me, but it looks really out of place to me. Just my opinion, the rest of the map looks great. EDIT: NVM read last posts sorry, I guess that's what has to be done...
cool beans dude, i could see how narrows wouldnt work because of the landscape, plus there are so many of them (like Guardian). plus i saw the new pics today and i think the map is looking great along with the energy bridge. it would be great to see this get finished
For some reason my multiquote button isn't working Sooo... Everyone: We'll look into replacing the 5x5 flat in the center of the platform. If I can find a way to minimise framerate and have that platform looking nice, then it'll be done NH; That's another reason why I abandoned the idea of the Narrows remake. It'd be done to the point where it wouldn't be fun to play and it'd just be the entire map as a gimmick. Maybe if I have enough spare time and enough creative flare, I might consider a Narrows remake in the future... Also, thanks for all the comments guys
Thread Update #2 Testing's been going well on NexogeN. Yesterday I took it upon myself to quash the map's framerate issues (which had been rather bad in the past). In doing so, I also improved the map's theme and made it look better in general. Hopefully you'll all enjoy! The loadout camera. As you can see, the map is no longer aesthetically symmetrical, although it is still functionally symmetrical. Part of red side, which is largely the same as it was in the past. it's still gotten a bit of a facelift, and now no longer causes framrate from the sniper platform. The same area on blue side. Yes, those are energy shroomz (a la Toadz in the Hole) The OS room. There are only cave elements and shroomz on blue side, for orientation's sake. The new, much prettier sniper platform. No, there's not screenlag from up here anymore either. More shroomz around the map. Blue base, still functionally the same. View from beneath the bridge. I believe the nibbles lives down here.
Wow looks great. Still think you should lowercase the "n" though. lol Based off of the pics, I think you should add a rock to middle of the "rock pillar" so that there aren't any gaps in it. IMO it looks a bit silly how it currently is. If it were one solid rock pillar than it would look better.
