There's videos of the new maps on GameTrailers. I'm too lazy to load them so go see for yourself. Heretic looks pretty boring at the moment. Citadel looks like it could have potential, but from the video it looks like it barely has anything but just flat hallways with the occasional ramp up to a second story. Boring as well. Longshore looks cool, but you only see a small portion of the map (it seems) so it's hard to tell. Based on only what I've seen so far from these videos I'm doubting that I'll buy the maps, even if they do give me recon. I'll just wait until theyre free.
You know that you need more than just these maps to get Recon anyways- right? When Halo ODST comes out- you need 3 more vidmasters (7 vidmasters) which includes: So you will need to get ODST to get Recon, not just the maps... Classic- beat a campaign mission on Legendary without firing a single shot or throwing a grenade Deja Vu- Beat "Highway" in 4 player Co-Op with Iron Skull without using a Warthog or Tank (no clue what the mission is yet) Endure- On Heroic Firefight, pass the 4th set on 4 player LIVE Co-Op. But these maps look the best. Heretic is just a classic- so it is worth it- I think it will be as or almost as popular as Guardian is. Citadel- not my favorite, but it looks like it will make a pretty good map for 5v5s or lower. Longshore looks the best- There arent any other maps that take place in the city, urban maps rule and this seems like it will mimic the feel of Headlong. I would actually be willing to pay 800MS points to play Longshore alone...
