Most maps with a story are located on one map only. My idea is to develop a storyline and create multiple maps using the different categories of maps (link to what I mean here) for the story. You could have a forerunner based storyline using some of the forerunner maps, a covenant storyline using the covy maps, etc. When the player completes the first map, he loads up the second map and the story continues from there. The maps would be a puzzle in which you have to find something or reach an end. I reckon this could work, and if done well could be quite good. I don't actually have any time to forge right now, so I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in having a go at this. I know it would require quite a bit of work, having to develop the storyline and then the maps. Just an idea.
I have often forged right off the halo story line. More of a fan fiction of sorts. Is this where your leaning towards? Or something else entirely?
Um, not quite. Example: Some guy wakes up in an abandoned town (ghost town) and escapes to an empty ammunition warehouse (foundry). From there he treks to a large observatory (standoff) and gets beamed up to a satellite (orbital) where he takes control and flies off into the yonder. Obviously these maps would be forged and have some sort of puzzle or requirement to advance to the next part of the story.
