After viewing the video, Its hard to tell how much control you'll have over creating objects in FarCry. They only showed about 3-4 of the tools you have at your disposal, so I'm sure there is much more you can do. They created the Eiffel Tower for goodness sake.....I'm sure there is much more that can be done. What surprised me even more is how beautiful the created environments actually look! I will be buying this game for sure.
The dynamic shadow ont he Eifel tower is what suprised me most. Every object used cast a perfect shadow, no matter how far it was from the ground. There are an absolute tonne of other tools DTL, i don't want to go into them all, but watch the interviews, you will hear of loads.
Yeahm the shadow gave me a forgegasm... no a farcrygasm? Its amazing what you can do in a video game these days.
The editor actually reminded me of a more advanced Roller Coaster Tycoon map editor, for those of you who have played it before.
RCT is so fun. Especially bowling =D. Well, I'm getting this game, so who cares what other people say about having no skill.
Looking at above comments* - See, its hard to see how forgehub could avoid such an oppotunity to intergrate more and different types of map editors when the time comes. I personall would love to see the mix of different ones on here and since they are all completely different from one another im sure it wont suddenly go all Far Cry 2 as the difference is Far Cry's is more world editor where forge is a much more intensive editor is smaller space.
Forge only needs one thing - A big empty map with a high roof. With just foundry's objects you could make anything. But because we only have foundry we are limited to a small roof in a small factory.
LOL How can you watch the fc2 map editor video and say that? I'm pissed now too because we're not getting a map editor for halo (I made a thread with luke smith quotes from bnet) so even if they improve forge it won't touch this.
ZOMG... That was magnificent! I'm going to buy this game, even if I have to kill a dozen bums for the money.
