Wow. Normally I'm not one for Invasion maps but this looks incredible. I love the bridge destruction and the scale of this map seems pretty epic.
I think you went a bit overboard with the pieces that disapear each phase. Maybe you should just make the middle of the bridge dissapear, with destroyed aesthetics near the center, and have the sniper building turn into something of a one-story tall rubble pile. Just food for thought.
This looks great! The buildings look nice, and the level looks like it flows well: I really feel like I'm looking at a real city! My only concern is that cover on the bridge looks minimal, are you able to walk out to place/ attack the bomb without being sniped or DMR'd instantly? Anyways, it looks great! The disappearing bridge is epic, but some rubble would be left behind after an explosion.
Let me first off start by saying Holy $#!+. Ok now to where I was going, the aesthetics on this map are out of this world!, I and my friends were blown away by the cool looking buildings, my favorite was the bridge . I LOVE INVASION MAPS!!! and I play them all the time, and let me tell you this is by far *ONE OF THE BEST INVASION MAPS I'VE EVER SEEN*... Sooo, ya great job, I hope you make some more!
Wow, this map actually looks like a real city. This map looks amazing for invasion and just regular BTB battles. Reminds me a bit of Headlong from Halo 2, with the vehicles and the city landscape. Amazing job!
The cover on the bridge is minimal but the same for both sides so its kinda of a standoff point , there is however a wall covering the bomb plant. Also both sides get a sniper so its may the best sniper win. I would have placed rubble for the destruction effect but I felt it was an unneccessary aesthetic feature considering my options when making the map. I am however working on a new invasion map that will feature destruction on a more realistic scale.
At first I thought this was that other similar map I played on with you a while back, but this looks great in its own right. I'm impressed it doesn't have any lag, but I guess its because the map is so big that the objects are spread out enough and so they aren't rendered in detail until you get up close. By the way, when is that other one coming out, the one with that gametype on the bridge where the sniper tries to kill all the elites before they get to the rocket?
This looks outstanding, it reminds me heavily of headlong. I'd love to play it. My only real suggestion (seeing as I haven't played it yet) would be the hiding of fusion coils in the buildings so the resulting explosion looks large enough to destroy your architecture. As cool as the bridge getting destroyed is, that's a pretty small boom. But hey, that's just some cinematic criticism! Maps don't usually even have dynamic stuff like that! That's friggin awesome! EDIT: Oh, and perhaps you should take some of the extra pieces you have and embed them in buildings or in the water after the explosion to make a sort of shrapnel afterwards? And the pieces could even open up or block routes for attackers and defenders, which would be even more awesome than this already is.
This map is wonderfull to behold. When me and my friends saw the map initially, there was some real pant-jizzing going on. BUT... within a minute the calls of "where are the weapons? Can anyone find any weapons?" commenced down my headset. They continued for the duartion of our game. This is a major, MAJOR pity because this map is super stupendous to look at but the gameplay is seriously hindered by the sparsity of the weapons. I realise that you have used full budget, but i would urge you to find something...anything that you could remove without affecting the map's dynamics and use the budget to place a lot more weapons. My other minor gripe is some of the building are quite laborious to run up and down. I would have liked to have seen faster access to some of the high points. Thats said, great map. I have rated it 4/5. Would have been 5 had it not been for the weapons.
