I like this new direction of Forge Hub burning bridges. Though, admittedly, THC is one of those communities that didn't get the appreciation they were looking for around here, from the looks of it.

Fair enough, but again, while your preference might be a no thrills only posts and nothing else look, others might not like that and the option to turn the things that you don't like off makes the argument essentially "I want my preference forced on others".

 

This insane space between posts needs to stop. Look at the gap between this text and my signature

 

I've brought this up in staff before, it will get done.

 

I believe that gap is from all the boxes under your name and avatar.

 

this, its's typical of any forum to set the minimum height of a post to that of the avatar+info, since sigs are always below the post it can create a lot of dead space.

an option to hide sigs, avatars and the information to the point it only shows a persons username will get rid of all the dead space if a person chooses. personally i think some dead space is needed otherwise reading through posts because a huge wall of text nightmare.

 

Yep, I have avatars and sigs turned off so I assume my gap is less than yours. All I see is your name, rank box & member info boxes. Unless you make a large post it only gives the room for that stuff to fit.

 

The gap can be removed through better use of CSS without messing with avatars or sigs.

It seems like the sig only begins after the postbit ends, meaning all posts will be at least the length of postbit + sig. I would imagine there's a way to redo the CSS so the sig can start before the bottom of the postbit, meaning the minimum post height will only be as high as the postbit, which can obviously then be reconfigured to include less information if people still want slimmer posts.

Still, I think barely any of you guys know me in the first place, though I have been here since 2011.

 

Suggestion: Bring back the Report button that clearly says "Report" , The little inconspicuous /!\ button makes it pretty hard for people to know how to report posts.

 

That, and the "!" Is on the bottom left. All the other options are on the bottom right. I couldn't even find it at first.

also, this has probably been brought up before, sorry for any reptition in advanced. There should be a way that we can change our time zone so that the chatbox(and other things) will display the correct time for us.

 

Good luck to reviving an old Forge Giant. I'll be happy to see Forgehub back in the game, and all its members contributing to the pool of community maps. The CC are happy to assist in reviewing community content from the site as we have in the past and will continue in the future.

Thanks for the kind words, Papercraft. We're moving along rather well as far as I'm concerned, though it will take some time to fix everything up with a new layer of paint. Still, there are things to reveal soon as well. It definitely doesn't have anything to do with some features and a new front page design. Not in the least. Most definitely not with raccoons in place of your cursor.
