Need some ideas...

if you have just made 2 zombie maps why don't you try something different, just a thought

 

i hate to 'upset the apple cart' ... but Zombie maps have been done to death ... something original, pleeeeeeeeeeease!

Unless you can come up with something truly unique, or a completely different perspective of the whole 'Zombie' gametype.

 

If you do make a zombie map, please and I stress, son't make the humans in an unpenetrable room with power weapons and turrets(close the door).

If you can't come up with anything, do what i did, find a friend who is a decent forger, and have them start making what ever they want. You watch from over in the corner of the map, and if you see something you like in it, take over from there. Thats how I came up with my maps Safari and the spinoff, Poacher (Under Construction)

 

yeah ... i think it'd be cool for some people who are happy to share their ideas come up with some basic premises for less-experienced forgers (say merge a few boxes and such together into an aesthetically pleasing, functional geometry) and then let people take over.

Could even make a 'challenge' of it ... like, have a base map with some geometry as described above, and then people have a limited timescale (of a day or two or something) to create a map using the base pieces already laid out and under specific stipulations.

 

So none of your maps are original ideas? That's kind of sad that you have to use someone else's work, even if they allow you to do so in the first place.

I hope you give that person the majority of the credit and state that you simply put "finishing touches" on the map.

@TSun- that is a very fine line you speak of. We don't want people stealing map ideas and publishing them before the original forger does.

No, I sorta worded that wrong. He started making a base in the corner, so it sparked an idea. I came up with the idea and did everything execpt the human fort.

 

Sometimes I get some of my best map ideas from my dreams. (No I'm not a druggie!) When I dream I am in a wierd place. Sometimes if the place is cool I will right down what it was or I'll sketch a rough drawing of it. Sometimes I even dream about actual Deja Vu in Forge were I see myself building a level and a few days later the exact same thing happens that was in the dream.

Sleep=Dreams
Dreams=Ideas
Therefore:
Sleep=Ideas!

Theres my whole theory explained!

 

it wouldn't be literally part of someones idea ... it would be like a template map to start on.
