Every time I sync anything on iTunes it disconnects and says:

"attempting to copy to the disk"henry's iPhone" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to."

"The iPhone "henry's iPhone" cannot be synced. The required disk cannot be found"

It has been like this for several weeks now and I simply dismissed it as the fact my pc was old and cluttered. Just now I formatted my computer, totally re-installed windows and it still won't work.

Does anybody have a suggestion as to what is going wrong?

p.s. occasionally I have managed to mess with some settings and get it to copy ONE song over, but trying any more it wipes the whole thing.

Turn off automatic syncing and do it manually.

It is, however I thought that putting the music into the iTunes library would put it on my computer.

I will copy some music onto my pc first, see if that helps.

You can move things over youself?

Yeah click on your iphone on the left of the screen and then check the manage music and videos manually option that should be in the middle of the screen.
