Ok so I feel pretty confident in my forging ability and being able to make maps and fresh ideas. However there is one problem that has really been bugging me and I dont know how to fix it. Every time I forge I make everything a lot bigger than it needs to be. Like as if the spartans shrunk. I forge alone so I can't use another spartan. But I was wondering if anyone had some tips on how I can tell the size. And I feel like it would be really annoying to constantly switch to human mode everytime I splace a block. Thanks!

The more time you spend forging, the easier it should be for you to tell if your scaling is right just based upon the size of the pieces you're using.

I personally don't really trust my eyes or my judgement though. When I'm in forge mode, about 90% of my time is spent in Spartan Mode, making sure the size of the map, lines of sight, movement options, grenade bounces, etc. all feel right. I don't think it's possible to spend too much time in Spartan Mode, unless you're in a speed forging competition.

So, essentially, you feel like you're miniature compared to your maps?

Well like you explained in the last part of your post is what I do constantly throughout my maps. I'll build, then switch to Spartan and run around and test the movement and make sure things are to scale. Doesn't take longer than 10-15 seconds. After the first few times, you get a visual feel for how tall or far apart things should be.

EDIT: Dag, Chunk beat me to it. haha

What chunk said, but I personally like 16 or 20 as a base catwalk or door width. Everything changes depending on what I feel is the best for each area, but that is a good start.

Also, a nice trick is to spawn an 2x4x8 block in various places on your map to see the size of a spartan at various distances.

It also helps to keep in mind that the Forge units (in Halo 5, anyway) are in feet, and that a Spartan is 7 or 8 feet tall.
