Well I have posted videos of a drop pod and a sucessful landing I had made. I also have been able to recerate that result multiple times. However I am still having problems. There are still a number of times I have been unsucessful quite a few time, though I think I have made the proper adjustments to fix those when others try it out they cant survive a landing. Also failures seem to be more prominate when more than one player is in the game (map) Still havent been able to cram 2 into a pod.

So I am stumped on how to fix it. I have identified potential problems but still trying to figure out how to work around them. So I am posting it up here for help. I want to get one working realibile enough so that I can make an invasion map off of it but first have to work around these problems.

I was wondering if anyone here would want to have a go at it. Give it a few tries (also with more than 1 player to test if hosting has anything to do with it.) see if anyone could make some adjustments to it and get it working a little more reliable. I can handel some rough drops with minor shields or even health loss and the ocasional fail but not a 50% chance of dieing.

You can find the map here if you are interested.

Problems I am trying to work with.

*Large baracade falls off the platform before switch is pressed making the switch verry deadly. (Fixed this with a few street cones)
*Barcades fall inwards or hit player causing damage (or death)
*Door fals unevenly causing the base to be unballanced durring the fall making it roll and flip (another fatal mishap)
*Pod falls faster than player. Another fatal misdrop.

I have seen Rifte's drop pods. I have had more sucess with crates than side baracades. Also I am trying to make an Aesthetic/Animated pod with a door. I may forgo the door and use the 2 large baracades merged together on a crate but I think that may run in with the same problem as the baracades hitting me upon landing.

If you can make a whole diffrent drop pod design (say for 2 players) I wouldn't mind seeing it. Just keep in mind I would want to make 3 or 4 of these. My goal is to be able to drop 4 to 8 players in a single setting (4 being the minimum) Also trying to make it work without an overshield or custom powerup that modifies the damage resistance/health table. Also trying to have it land on a grid instead of a shield door to break the fall.

I have placed a few starting items (pistol, battle rifle, sprint) to give a test subject the same gear he/she may be falling with. Also put a teleporter to get back up. The current landing area is a grid so you can adjust the height of the fall up and down. MY planed dropzone is where the glowing lights are at in the water near the island.

    Thanks for any help.

I've made some smaller drop pods by using two small barricades against eachother with one up side down, but those tend to kill the player on impact unless they hit some kind of incline.

I know you've seen Rifte's drop pods but there's also a video here that shows exactly how he made them. You can substitute the fixed weapon for a custom powerup, or overshields.
