So there was a map on Halo 3's Sandbox map (the one from the Mythic Map Pack, not Sandtrap) that I think used the King of the Hill (KOTH) gametype. I don't remember the name of the map/mode, so I'm gonna describe it in as much detail as I can remember:

The map itself was made up of a tall, narrow corridor with the floor being made up of 2x2 or 2x4 stone blocks. Below these stone blocks were kill balls.

The hills were floating about twenty or so feet above the stone blocks.

Everyone spawned with Brute Shots and deployable grav lifts.

The goal was to stand on top of a 2x4 block, aim down, and drop your Grav Lift. You would then be sent flying up into the boundary of the floating hills I mentioned earlier. To win, you had to keep yourself in the hill for as long as possible by balancing on your bouncing stone block (because the grav lift is juggling it) or switching to other stone blocks to stay up in the air within the hill boundaries.

You could shoot other players' blocks with your Brute Shot to throw them off/get them killed. It was stupid fun and chaotic, and I just cannot remember the name of the map or game mode for the life of me.

So this is where I need help. Does anyone recall this map and mode?

    /edit

They were the deployable Grav Lifts, not ones placed in Forge. Thanks for the correction @PsychoBucket

Hey, have you tried using the search bar to find it? If you can't find it on the first try, click "Search Again" to get more detailed search ability.

from the description it sounds like a jenga esc gametype. Good luck finding the specific one, how many gametypes like that that exist is staggering

If it was popular it may have been on Bungie Favs so it should have lots of DLs. I do remember playing the game but can't recall if it was a forge test or custom lobby.

I don't even know what to search, but I'll just start plugging stuff in I guess lol

Ah okay. I'll start with this and see what I find

I really hope it was a Bungie Fav at one point. That'll make it a lot easier to find haha

I think I remember that map. If I am thinking of the same map as you, you have the bruteshot/grab lift part wrong. You threw a portable grab lifts on the small blocks and that caused them to float upwards. Only one team tried to use the lifts. The other team had bruteshots to kill the first team.

I think I know what map you're referring to, as I have a group that plays 16 player H3 MCC custom lobbies (typically on weekends), and this map (if it's the one I'm thinking of, which I'm almost positive it is) has came up probably 7 times or so.

I'm not on at the moment, but I'll grab the name of it asap and link it. If it is the map I'm thinking of, it has been remade in MCC already, if that was why you were asking. :)

EDIT: After re-reading your post, I know the exact map you're talking about! :) Just got to get the name... It's on MCC though!

Ohh, right! Yeah I totally forgot about the deployables in Halo 3. Man, it's been so long haha. You're totally right though. They were the deployable grav lifts. Once you dropped one on a stone block, it would send the attached stone block upwards.

Dude, you would be my hero. That's awesome man. Do you bother playing Halo 5: Forge on PC at all? I run lobbies on Friday/Saturday, and it tends to fill up now that I've got some regulars. I even made a Steam Group, Spartan Company, and Discord to try and make it as official as possible haha

You seem to have your own thing going on though, but I thought I'd extend the offer. Anyone reading this is totally welcome to join in as well. All the info is in my Steam Group here

Got side tracked lol, but if you could get me the name I'd be grateful. Also, is the MCC content completely separate from the original Halo 3 content? You mentioned that it is on MCC as though it would be out of reach for someone who owns the original Halo 3, so I'm not sure.

    Found it! :D

The map is called "Blast Off!!!", and was created by "Ell3ment". His thread for it can be found here.

Someone else made a thread for it but all the picture links are dead. No real point in posting it, but it's here if you want to see it lol.

DOWNLOAD LINKS (or just go to his FileShare on H3 360)

    Blast Off!!! (Map) - http://halo.bungie.net/online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=80741087
    Fly high (Gametype) - http://halo.bungie.net/online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=80740909

The one on MCC (may as well say it while I'm posting this, lol) is called "Blast Off!", and was recreated by codemanj94. That map can be downloaded by visiting "RUSTYNA1LZ" FileShare.

The remake is incredible too. Oh, and to answer your question; No. Halo 3 maps from Xbox 360 do not transfer over to the Master Chief Collection, or vice versa. Kind of a slap in the face as they literally ported maps over from 360 to MCC for matchmaking for Grifball, Action Sack, and I'm pretty sure some maps under the "Team Slayer" playlist too... Though I get that it's easier for them to port select maps, rather than let everyone download any maps they want. Same goes for films, screenshots, game types, stats etc. Nothing ports over.

Took a few screenshots of the remake on MCC too, as I thought the pictures from the original thread would be dead by now:

The two starting boxes, with the Grav lifts and hill markers.

Also not in the picture are the two rooms for the opposing team with brute shots. :)

As for the PC question, unfortunately I do not play Halo 5 on PC, nor do I play PC in general. My PC is from like 2006 and came with Windows Vista OS and can't support Windows 10, but supports Windows 8.1 lmfao. Plus I'm a console dude. Grew up with Halo 1, never left Xbox haha. But played N64, Game Boy Advance SP and Game Cube prior.

Hope that's what you were looking for!

@Faulkner18 Dude you're the best! That's exactly the mode I was thinking of. Damn my memory was pretty inaccurate haha

Good stuff though man. I didn't think I'd ever find this again. Here is a video of the mode in action for anyone who stumbles upon this thread in the future:
