Map Name: Atrocity Created By: Fame28 Original Map: Narrows (Halo 3) Download Link: 343 not showing links to downloadable content yet, although if you search by gamertag (fame28) it will allow you to download the map on Halo 4 that way I found. The Man Cannons now work perfectly and I added (Oridinance) Rockets to top mid and Snipers down where overshield used to be (it makes it much more competitive there). The entire map was measured on Halo 3 using a king of the hill marker to create blueprints for Halo 4. (I created the Narrows remake aka Atrocity, same name for Halo Reach)
It looks to be a lot wider, which I suppose you can't really avoid, and might actually make it play better anyway. Other than that, consider me blown away by how well you've done in such a short amount of time.
Agree with the above. Kinda wish there was an effect that affected only objects (and not screens), but you done good, son.
Amazing map! Loved it! Only gripe is sometimes the man cannons or whatever they are called can totally throw you to suicide if you don't come in from above. Adding it to my map pack!
Thank you guys for the input so far. Jed: I play tested the man cannons so much and in many different ways. Unfortunately you absolutely can not use them from the bottom. If anyone has any answers to help please let me know.
To get them to work maybe you could add in trait zones or gravity volumes to give players a little extra boost while they are in the air. Worth a try? Idk I don't have the game so have not been able to experiment.
Looks great! And I think you might want to make it a tad bigger than the original, because everyone has sprint to start with.
I will have to test the player traits zone only slightly in front of the man cannons to see if that will fix it. That is a great idea to test (if someone jumps there though it might make them float in space type jump if the man cannon doesn't grab them....)
Red lift has a piece sticking out on the right wall. Both attics on blue and red are too small. I can't jump without hitting the wall piece and falling off and it's really bumpy to get to the top of it. The lift jump to top mid is just a little too small. When trying to use it, you will fall off. The wall pushes you off as soon as you get on it. The flag attics are larger than in Halo 3. The plasma ramps going to top mid are bumpy too. Other than that. Looks amazing.
The blurry pictures really don't do this justice. I played it yesterday and it was near perfect. Only problem I had was sometimes, for some reason I would overshoot the lift and get caught in the one across the map as I was flying over. Maybe it's because of the way I approached the lift, I don't know. Also, if they ever implement forge maps into MM, or make a "Classic" playlist, this definitely needs to be in.

Jed05 - that video looks awesome. I really wish I had a captured card... Also I am going to investigate all of the prior post suggestions to fixing the listed issues. I did notice that everyone else chose Erosion for their remakes mostly, I'm glad I did not use Erosion. The funny part is when I was measuring and deciding placement on the three new forge maps, I almost chose Erosion and decided against it because of its not so aesthetic textures.
Well if you make maps that are this good, I'll be glad to do a capture for you to use to promote your maps.
Maybe you could put another man cannon in front of the one that is there now, and a little below it, so that from below, you catch that one instead, and it throws you to the other side.
The best aesthetics I've seen so far in terms of general palette use and taking advantage of the new dynamic lighting. The red base being bathed in sunlight looks fantastic and makes for easy map orientation. So far it looks like Ravine has the best lighting out of the 3 forge maps. Erosion looks too dull and murky (as it should I suppose) and Impact is way too bright. Everything is starch white and make maps appear to be made of toys.
Bravo! This should be in matchmaking! You did such a great job you forget it's a remake. I agree that the lighting in Ravine seems to be the nicest of the three. I like this a lot and will be adding it to my customs. I look forward to more of your work.
