i think theres to much contrast on some parts of marcus..

 

hmm, but gears already has that with it. I like it, but maybe just like a cold or saturate effect might work better.

 

i would say add some colour somewere like a yellow/white thing for some sparks

v1 is better.

The text placement in the second version is not good. And, as for the text in v1, try to make it stand out a bit more. You can probably increase the size by just a little bit. Try some other fonts and see if they look better, this font just doesn't appeal to me.

Nice lighting. Good depth. v1 is truly better, the colors in v2 suck. No offense.

BTW, is it okay if you send me the links to the C4Ds you used here or something?

yea V2 is a bit dodgy now
try adding some burnt orange

 

monotone and text are the things you need to work on. . .don't tilt the text, it looks bad. Brilliant C4Ds though, well done.
