I AM CHINESE. I AM CHEAP. I CAN NOT AFFORD, NOR WILL I BOTHER SAVING UP FOR ONE.

As for the Inspiron, my Dad has one, and it's pretty clunky and heavy. I meen, good specs, but I don't need 3GB of RAM and etc. 1GB RAM and 8-16GB SSD is good for me, jah?

    since we're talking about laptops:
i'll be needing 1 since I'm moving and I was wondering if anybody knows any good laptops that are under $800. I found the HP - Pavilion Laptop and it has 17" screen, 4 GB memory, 250 GB hard drive, DVD - RW and CD - RW, built in web cam, wifi, stereo, 4 USB ports, 1 IEEE 1394 FireWire Port (I have no idea what that is), vista, and a remote... sounds good 2 me. And yeah this will be my 1st laptop, so I don't really know much

You won't need a Firewire. Firewire is pretty much dead. Even Apple, the main champion of it, removed Firewire from their low-end computer. People just don't need it.

Its a pretty useful cable that apple developed which was intended to be where the USB cable is now...sadly it faded away just like HDDVDs are now... except the firewire cable was actually better, IMO.

Those mini laptops are priced very nicely. Some of them can get really good battery life if you find the right one.

Firewire was a connection that delivered data straight to the devices without being slowed down by the USB's slave control bus. Very useful in certain situations. For an example, if you need to run video at fast speed, then Firewire is a very good connection. However, I've only ever needed to use Firewire on my computer maybe for my camera and backup HDD; even then, my other computers don't have Firewire ports, so I needed to use their USB functionality much more. And those Firewire cables aren't cheap, either.

I'm getting this nice little laptop. Sure it's more than five pounds, but I'm a big guy. Anyways, this has nice specs and I like the finish that is on it. It's got some cool features too.

Anyways, it's too bad about your laptop and how much it sucks. Although, I guess if you're looking for something small with little space and stuff, that sounds good. I would rather have a desktop-like laptop since I don't even have a desktop. Oh, btw, do you have stuff you could sell to earn a bit more money? If you find enough stuff to sell, you could probably get enough to cover the laptop. =/

Model name. Like Dell Inspiron or Sony Viao. The Toshiba is a Toshiba Satellite. The more important thing is that it's a special "Best Buy only" resale laptop. The only other way to get it off the market is to buy it from the main site.

Yeah, I've been selling some old games I don't play anymore. Also, my old PSP.
