I finally took the time to download Gimp and watch a few tutorials. So I decided to make a sig of my favorite upcoming game. The colors don't mach too well, but I was just playing around.
    What do people think?

way better than my first I'll tell you that.

The repetitive crossing pattern gives off a really boring feel. Especially with those colors, it just reminds me of some sort of argyle sweater.

The font for your name is boring, and the text over all is really quite default-ish.

The render seems like you didn't do a lot with it.

But fortunately for you, all these problems are usually solvable by just screwing around with settings. So just look at some tutorials, play with some settings, and have fun with it.

I would of went for a red darkish colour and a more bloody font ..
But it is very good and i would let the render stand out more without the lines through it ..
Just watch tutorials and you'll be good =]

Most GOW sigs are grungy and dark and this is very different from that. I think it works though cuz it's not a violent render and Marcus looks kinda peaceful and the cross hatch does get annoying but it gives a fence feel which I kinda like. Also the colors blend well and I like what you did with the edges of the render. Really great for your first one so kudos! =)

Those criss-crosses look pretty bad. Mostly because they're blurry. Also, text in two completely separate places splits up the persons view, and you dont want that.

The colors and blending are pretty good, though try using a gradient map. To do that, make a new layer, copy visible and then paste it. And go to colors>map>gradient map. Use two common or relative colors from your render.

And hey, this isn't your first! I saw you make one and post it in the PPC.

For a good gradient map Violet to Orange (default) is always a good choice and then just lower opacity until it looks good. Also yeah maybe sharpen the cross hatching or just get rid of it.

I made that one and my current one in paint. Those don't count.

I like the outline and the type of text. But the color of it needs to be JUST A LITTLE bit darker. But other than than this is awsome. 5/5 and good first SIg.
