So I have 150 bucks and a $25 walmart gift card at my disposal. I was thinking about getting a cap card, but also want Mass Effect, and NEED a new mic (I'll just get the 15 dollar standard microsoft one)... So I foud on amazon that a Dazzle Platinum is 80 bucks. That plus mass effect plus mic = 152$. I noticed that people were saying I would also need an extra set of male to male composites. I'll take 'em out of my DVD player. Now the important part. My monitor I just got for xmas i swhat I play my 360, pc, and DirectTv on. I read up on cap cards, and it says you should play on your tv while recording on your PC. Mine are kinda... the same thing, but different channels. How would I do this?

Just for Halo 3 makes it seem like a waste of money. You'd be better off buying a decent video card that has capturing abilities as a bonus.

    Not worth it.

Any decent Capture Card should come with those cables supplied since they are absolutely necessary.. if yours doesn't it is garbage.

This should still work fine. You tell it to record from the PC then switch over the 360. The capture card is presumably capturing from the display device. Assuming your display device HAS a video output port.

The standard way to do this is to use an Xbox AV Cable with composite and S-Video. You plug the composite into the TV and the S-Video into the capturing device. You need to somehow have two copies of the video signal and that is the best way to do it.

So scratch Mass Effect, just rent it prly. The cables = 26 bucks. So a dazzle platinum + the cables + a headset? Any cap card you reccommend that would stay in that price range?

    P.S. I'm using it for H3, CoD4, and GH3 (for me)

Will make montages for people for ms points, which I'll sell, make some money back. :)

Hey that's not true, my DVD Player didn't come with anything but the power cable and it's fantastic, the one before it came with both an RC cable and a set of male-male AV cables and it was crappy.

Mass effect is a great game and is worth a buy in my opinion . Its up to you though. If you want to make vids from your 360 and really want a cap card go for it. Dont listen to other people if its what you want go get it!

A DVD player is not a capture card. Players don't tend to come with any cables at all really, which sucks doesn't it... :(

I agree, mass effect is totally worth the buy, i rented it, beat it, bought it, and beat it again, one of the best RPGs I've ever played. But as far as video capture cards go mine is a PCI / 3/5 slot that has composites and svideo. It runs through the computer and onto the software that is displayed on your moniter, its not very good quality though, but it was the only real-time capture card i could find in any of my local retailers. In case you want to look it up its the Turtle Beach Video Advantage PCI. Hope this helps. :)
