As a matter of fact, C4 and Claymores are used plentifully in S&D, as well as TIs in Demo, and I see good amounts of these in TDM games too. It's a great perk, and hearing louder footsteps could mean the difference between life and death, at least if you're wearing a headset and listen to those kinds of things.
I'd use it if I had a headset. It allows you to use sight and sound more efficiently. You wouldn't have to constantly look over your shoulder with it equipped, because you could hear the enemy coming. It's real purpose is to counter ninja, which counters heartbeat. So, if you're up against a team of ninjas that aren't using heartbeat sensors then it would be better to use sitrep than ninja.
Even then, still way more specific then the other perks. Steady Aim. Any gun, free aim. Using Sniper scopes/Thermal, Steady Aim Pro. Commando. Increased lunge range. No fall damage for Commando pro. Last Stand is whenever you should have died. All of those give an effect even if your enemy is doing nothing but walking around and shooting. That's standard for every player. Sitrep Pro just makes two things more noticeable. How is that a great perk? Even then, you're enemy might not even be using those. If they aren't, you just ruined an advantage. The only good thing is that it cancels Ninja Pro. So, that means your enemy has to be using Ninja Pro AND a certain piece of equipment for it to be of use. Ignore that it can see Frags and Semtex like it can Claymores/TIs/C4 as that is barely noticeable anyway.
Being able to hear footsteps over all the gun noise and stuff is nice. IMO not worth using usually, but it certainly is nice when you have a surround sound headset. Trittons=awesome for 1v1 (*cough*Shanon got pwnt*cough*)
I snipe alot which is why I think its good to be able to hear someone coming whilst reaining scoped, normally the majority of gamers would use a heartbeat sensor but you cannot see it while scoped and cannot sense behind you. The other reason is I also play search and with SitRep enemy equipment can be spotted from any distance, which is fine for a scoped weapon. It's saved my teammates on several occasions due to me warning them (from a distance) that there is claymores in the building/bomb place/courtyard, etc.
I would rather have ninja for S&D because many players have Heartbeat Sensors, and Ninja pro has the added bonus of making you quiet.
it is all really preference. people have different playstyles and so should clearly choose different things.
On the contrary. Heartbeat Sensor is a camper's worst nightmare, which the average player who snipes often camps, and quiet steps allow for shifting positions silently. Snipers who can use sniper rifles at near to far range can take a huge advantage with Ninja, since they tend too move around the less traveled areas of maps. Steady Aim on a Sniper is meh, holding breath is something you do only when you're lining up a long-range shot anyway. Your perk choices, as stated previously, should reflect your playstyles, side arms and gametypes played.
Playstlyes do mean a lot I guess. But you can't flank enemy lines if they know you are their. Sitrep is rare for a reason I guess. So what does cold blooded pro do?
When an enemy aims at you, your name will not appear red or at all and there crosshair will not appear red. Basically It makes you appear to be a teammate or dead enemy.
when the enemy looks at you, your name is not visible and their crosshair does not turn red. In other words, you can hide, pretend to be a corpse, or pretend to be one of their teammates. So much awesomeness has resulted in me getting CBP.
I see where you're coming from, and can agree with it, but it's really just preference. I play SnD, so being able to spot claymores and/or C4 is extremely helpful. I also have a headset, so Sitrep Pro would also benefit me greatly. Sitrep pro with a heartbeat would be a great combo imo. If they have ninja pro you can still hear their steps, otherwise they show up on your sensor.
yeah its fantastic. Takes forever to get, but its fantastic. The enemy wont shoot at you unless you shoot first or you are near some of your teammates.
