Man sorry to hear about that... Be sure to tell us how your life in China is because I've always wanted to go their and experience their culture.
That's rough. They're really making you move across the world? What kind of job did they get? Must be something VERY important, right? I hope it pays well to justify that kind of a change. I can't even imagine that. My family almost moved to California from Massachusetts a few years ago and I freaked. We didn't go in the end though. Wow. Well um, chin up and all that.... LOL. Omg, that is the best comment ever. I almost want to quote you on that. But my sig won't hold any more characters. *Sad face* P.S. Fun fact: I got a 43" HDTV off of Craig's List for only $200 from a guy who was moving to China. You should totally sell all your stuff for really cheap.
yessss, it stinks, my dad got a job at some college place I won't go into details. Well, it's sorta very important... I guess.
Dude I was born here in Hong Kong and lived here all my life. I understand that moving to a new country is a complete change in lifestyle but seriously it's not that bad, hell you might even like it more here. Firstly, no, we are not the stereotypical redneck mainland farmers and while it is true that we are part of China, if it wasn't for the Chinese writing everywhere you'd totally think it was a western city. We're very international too and you'll still get all the good **** here ('cept for a big gaming community). The landscape is very diverse too, you've got the ridiculously overpopulated central district and the calm and tropical-esque suburban zones. The people themselves are different here, everything is just a little quicker and not everyone's English is perfect but English is very prominent. As for the school, let me know which one you're going to and I can give you a generalisation of it. Generally though, it's a small world here and you'll quickly get to know people and make plenty of good friends, I probably won't ever run into you but if you need to ask anything just let me know. Oh and one last thing, if you're lookin' to get your gaming assorted goods, head down to Hong Kong Records in Pacific Place
Dude that sucks man. I would be so angry at my Dad for that. I would feal so alienated over there. So many short angry people lol. Best of luck.
I haven't gotten into a certain school yet, but I'll tell u as soon as I do get in it. Hong Kong records in pacific place... i'll keep that in mind thanks p.s. so you can get forgehub over there. Can you get bungie, photobucket, and stuff like that? my friend has a job with a bunch of Chinese people, and he HATES them for some reason. He said they make fun of him in their language, lol... but I doubt it's half as bad as he says
Yep you can basically get on any site we are very different from China and we don't have that internet censorship bs.
Besides the major pollution and population problem, China has some nice sites and their culture is actually interesting.
I guess it is a cool opportunity and all that but it sucks to have to leave your friends behind. Hopefully, the part of China you're moving to will have people that are in the same situation as you. That'll make you feel like you fit in more and it'd be good to have some friends that speak your language. Good luck in China.
If you see women with small feat, don't be surprised. It is called foot binding, and back in the 1920s - 1950s, they thought it made women look pretty. But happy traveling, this is a great chance to gain some cultural values of other people, and learn many new things about the daily Chinese life in general.
