Morlock Hello Forge Hub Community, The following Blackout Map Variant is entitled "Morlock" a reference to the Sub-Terranean Post-Human Species populating the underground of H.G.Wells' book"The Time Machine" that came out from the depths to feast upon the surface dwellers, as most of the expanded areas are below the permanent structures of the map and tend to be a bit darker than the top ground. The expansions on the map are in the form of a large platform behind and far below the central structure, smaller platforms to the left and right of the Air-Lift structure, a platform below and to the right of the BR tower, and numerous ramps connecting the platforms to the rest of the map and wrapping around the permanent structures. All Platforms and Ramped are interlocked making a smooth playing environment with little chance of bouncing inexplicably to ones doom. After all, grenades, fusion cores and overzealous leaps fill in that department just fine. Various weapons have been added to Morlock. All Dual-Wield weapons are present to different degrees 3 SMGs, 2 Pistols, Plasma Pistols and Rifles, Spikers, and 1 Mauler. Two sorely missed carbines also grace the flat surfaces of Morlock. A Flamethrower lies behind the Air-Lift structure I just felt it was an underused element of the game and wanted to see some fire. There are plenty more weapons to be found all around the map as well There are 3 man-cannons placed on the extra areas to allow faster access to different permanent areas on the map since one finds it easy to descend to those new areas. One to the left of the Air-Lift structure aiming anywhere from the side ramp, to the front doorway, and 2 on the large lower platform one aiming up to the center platform or sniper tower at an angle, and the other towards the corner ramp heading out of the lower air-lift structure. Both the Air-Lift associated man-cannons grant access to power weapons with a short clip if one jumps to reach them (Right=Fuel Rod, Left=Rockets, no reload) I intended the map to play host to mostly Slayer type Games, Team or otherwise, One Sided Team (or FFA) Objectives, and can be quite entertaining with infection if that's you're thing, although I updated the map for all the standard game types, so Assault-VIP. I have not tested it with any specific custom game types but have completed brief run-throughs of the default game types. Game play can vary quite a bit depending on the population of the game. with 4 or fewer, it might feel a bit too vast, but as you add bodies it starts to run smoothly. Ideal might be 10-12 but don't let that stop you from letting the party fill up. Thanks for your time, and I hope you enjoy this map. I would appreciate to hear constructive feedback particularly in the weapon placement. So if it interests you please download Morlock, I feel it will be worth your time. Share and Enjoy!
Wow dude this ia amazing for a first post! This is a 5/5 for sure. I just don't know what to say, everything is so straight and interlocked, I very rarely download but I must download this, we may even have to chat, did you interlock these in mid-air? wow. Good rep for you my friend.
awsome great interlcoking kinda hard to intarlock floating objects while keeping straight and even flip the bridges
thank you, It was time intensive I did the save+quit method of floating things. I really appreciate the enthusiastic response
Holy crap this map looks insane. A map that connects to an existing map that isn't in foundry deserves a feature. Nice job man, and welcome to forgehub! I look forward to more of your maps.
I have to say the same! VERY well written (thank you!!!!!!!) and also very well forged. I have one question, however. It looks as if someone could easily get to the original map. Is this supposed to be possible?
For some reason the Trainees are Better than some of the other forgers!! Im just Kidding, LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL, But really I will Download and test!!
yes, it is intended to be an expansion of Blackout. Movement between the permanent platforms and the new areas is encouraged
Looks pretty cool and it looks like you're good at forging blackout and what I think you should do is maybe add another base, and instead of it being on the bottom level like this map, maybe make it so that it's like another BR tower, or another sniper tower, you know. I'd D/L a map like that for sure. I think this map would really help the game play though.
I agree, I think a Blackout with more towers with interiors and multiple levels would greatly increase it's playability. I did get a bit carried away with the lower platform and that stifled my enhancements elsewhere. I plan on working more with Blackout in the future because it has a similar forge pallet to Foundry and is taller in most places, you just gotta make some floor for reference and to stop those pesky guardians.
