GO here for the latest version I have yet to see a sandbox mlg variant, so i thought i would give it a try. I don't do very *much* forging, but there are very many things different from the original SandBox. i have tested this and believe it or not it works fine for 1v1, but made for 4v4. Weapon setup: x 4 - 20 sec, 2 clips x 2 (Drop Spawn) - 180 sec, 2 clips (one in each base) x 4 - 10 sec x 4 - 10 sec x 1 (Drop Spawn) - 180 sec, 1 clip x 2 (Drop Spawn) - 90 sec, 1 clip x 2 - 20 sec, 2 clips Powerups: Custom x 1 - 180 sec OverView Red Diamond(Maul Spawn 1) Blue Diamond (Maul Spawn 2) Custom Tower(you cant climb to top btw) Rocket Spawn(Now i was having trouble deciding if i should keep this so im going to ask you guys, keep or delete and why?) Sniper Spawn(on each side)
the general layout is good, and well, much better than original sandbox. But yet i have some complains.... -Take of the 2 double walls in front of the bases. I know they are for jumping purposes, but they look "fugly" (****ing ugly). -If your leaving rockets.. then take of the cover besides it. Almost all power weapons are located so you have to make a run for it to get em. Always dangerous, and most of the time with no cover. -The middle structure is ok but you could work on it. Try making something differ with even 2 floors, because you just let the middle like original sandbox with some asthietics. Those are my opinion on what you should change. Rate: 7/10
This actually looks like more of a competitive map than an MLG map, asides from the weapons used. A shield door? On an MLG map? *raises eyebrow*
This look pretty good. Somt of the parts could be interlocked a little better and much smoother. Um alos the name... why mlg sandbox? I would have thought of somthing at least more creative than that. Sure there are mlg guardian and mlg construct but thats because you cant really forge on those maps. The mlg symbolizes that the gameplay is set up mlg style. as far as i know, there is no mlg foundry but there is mlg maps made on foundry. You see were im getting. Overall i would say tighty it up. It looks kinda sloppy here and there. Take you pics not in forge mode. And make it equal time to get the rocket, it seems like red could beat blue there
yeah, il go through today and fix it up. i was having trouble though. ill take out the walls, but i can't really edit, the bases, necause if i edit ther spawn time they just stay there and i can never edit them again, even after starting anew round. and then in an actual game they don't show up. so i think ill have to start over.
Is it just me or did he just take the sandbox bases, add walls in front of them and replace regen spawn with a sheild door. Its even got the same obelisks and corner larges off to the side? The rocket spawn ,the middle and the backs of the bases are the only true changes. 2/5 for orignallity
i can't show everything in the screenshots, i added 2 other jumps on each base. and really you should try the gameplay. TBH this is really original, no one has done it. if you download and see the whole map you'll see
A couple of things: You can only get the custom powerup from the side? The whole structure just gets in the way if the powerup's gone. The shield doors are not good. Mauler cheapness. The rocket spawn should be kept, but make its location more symmetrical to the two bases. It looks closer to the red base. And delete those double walls! If you need to jump then add some floating objects or at least something prettier. I'll give you a 6.5/10
Sorry about going OT but I really like the way you made your post, with the little weapon figures and the Download button.
agreed ^^^ also, you put the rocket spawn off to one side of the map, where the approach is not the same for both teams. so it might be easier for one team to grab rockets off the start.
MLG does not let people go outside of the map (the dunes), therefore I don't think that the rockets would be very good out there. Also I don't think having rockets spawn on one side of the map is a very good idea. 1) It doesn't give the players a power weapon to fight over in the beginning of objective games. 2) The players might forget about the rockets (Maybe not pros, but customs or MM). 3) It makes an easy target once they're picked up. There is no place to go after rockets are picked up. Once call out and they're down. It's too far for the player with rockets to be able to defend. I'd say, no. I'm sorry, I like the general map, but I don't think that rockets would be very good there. You might be able to get away with custom or OS out there though .
i've spent all day(taking all these into consideration), and i have completely re made it. making a new post now
