Misanthropy by africanBoi In association with Secondary Protocol Forge With limited supplies and no means of escape, chaos shall soon befall this darkened excivation site. Misanthropy is a dark aysemetic excavation site after a catastrophic cave in. Players will experience both close and long range combat as well as engaging in the element of stealth by capitalizing the shadows of the map. I began creating this map when one of my friends mentioned the lack of night time levels on Halo. They are scarce and often unplayable do to the overly dark shadows and mediocre forging. I also had an idea for some sort of dig site which could house the remains of an ancient creature: (Note the rib cage and spine) I decided to use the cave area of forge world so that I could limit the game-play easier and keep the battles in a closely confined space. I really like this area of the map, and my favorite pieces to forge with are the those in the natural category. I wanted to create some sort of rocky environment inside the cave, and that was when I came up with the idea of a cave-in. I built a building that had obliviously collapsed from its former foundation to come resting in an awkward angle at the mouth of the cave: (Blue Base, the rocky ledge to the right houses a sniper rifle) I also constructed a long tunnel that made use of both stucturing and rocks: (Sword hallway) I constructed a smaller Red Base in order to keep the game play flowing and not simply base to base conflict: (Sniper located on the top floor of the base) The rock platform adds to the tactical ability of this base to have more range and counter balance the generator as the focal point of the map. The last part of the map to addres is the path way the runs parrelel to the sniper tunnel on the opposite side of the Generator, the Perch. The Perch is yet another way up to the top of the Generator, and houses a focus rifle. I'm still in the testing stages of this map and I am very open to suggestions on how to improve the flow, weapons, spawning etc. Currently it is only set up for slayer game variants but I am going to put in others, please give me some suggestions on game types as well.
