    Minotaur's Labyrinth

I have been trying to think of unique concepts in Reach. The tough thing about that is that there are so many people who forge, and do it well, that is nigh impossible to think of anything. So, while I'm certain there have been mazes made before, my plan was to have the best one created. That should not be so hard, mazes are not a common theme in forge so I gave it a try.

The idea came to me when I decided to draw out a maze on graph paper. Twenty minutes later I had a complete, complex, circle labyrinth. I knew I just had to imitate it in forge. Once I began however, I noticed that a circle labyrinth would just not be possible or practical in Reach. So I redesigned the maze to more of a polygon design while still keeping all the same interior design of my sketched maze.

Once all the maze pieces had been laid, and there are a lot of them I used up every item that could be used under structure, it was time to set up the gametype. That was a little tricky for me because a maze is by nature single player. Reach's custom gametype selection is not as good as Halo 3's so there were less options available to me to make a good single player game.

I first tried assault, but gave that up because at least 2 players are needed to score the bomb, and the capture plate waypoint appears rendering the maze pointless anyway. Slayer was my only option. My hope is that I can set up my labyrinth map for numerous gametypes. Once alpha zombie hits in April I have a great idea in mind where the alpha zombie would be the "Minotaur" and the humans would try to navigate the maze avoiding the minotaur. I will also set up this maze for racing. I feel it would be fun for 2 or so mongeese to try it out.

Anyway, here is the start and end of the map, when I publish it I hope everyone gives it a try, it really is fun.

Where you'll be starting your quest, notice the caved in ceiling.

Your finish, in a nice flowery field with a soccer ball.
