I don't know what to say, there's nothing wrong Nice idea, the rings are really amazing I wouldn't do anything to the platform, because it's impossible to do it "smaller" in late game, bigger would be a bit boring... Best is just the way it is Beginning: easy to get some humans infected End: difficult to hit them ecaxtly BUT more zombies -> more Vehicles flying So in my opinion it should stay all the time the way it is. The Idea with spawning Ramps is also good. I thought about HOW do the Zombies then get to these, because you can't make spawnpoints spawn after a specific time. My solution would be either make Teleporters from beginning (jeah at the beginning they would end in falling down, but you just don't go in there) OR you make a Bridge spawn with the new Ramps... But I think also 2 Ramps are enough, you have to try this out and just keep going.
Update on mah progress: Three rings have been added to improve the aesthetics. They also serve as time management. The first ring spawns 60 seconds in, the second ring spawns 120 seconds in, and the final spawns 180 seconds in. A zombie base/starting spawn area has been added with a "garage" type deal which houses the vehicles. In other words, all the forging in that area has been completed. No pics of it yet, but they will come Shield doors have been added just below the surface of the landing platform. This way, when a vehicle crashes onto it, all chances of the vehicle accidently getting stuck on the platform are now gone. They have been placed just below the surface to rid the platform of that gross blue shield door look, but still do their job in bouncing the vehicles off. ________________________________________________ Ok, now to all the suggestions. To everyone saying to add more launching ramps, that is a slim possibility. It would use up a lot of materials and I am already running very low. I have less than $50 on my budget currently. If anything, I might scrap together a few materials to make just one more launch ramp on the opposite side. Two ramps would be an absolute max. However, it would not spawn in at a certain time. It would have to be there from the beginning. You guys have to think about how the zombies would get to the other ramp. Like Srongzide mentioned, you cannot place spawn points set to spawn at certain times, and a teleporter would disrupt the flow. So IF another ramp is made, it would have to spawn at start, which really isn't that big a deal anyways. I'm not positive about the the death barrier, but if it turns out that it does not count as a suicide, I am willing to work around that and tweak the gametype accordingly. I am about 90% done with the forging, and I don't exactly feel like making it all over again in the crypt xD And finally, thanks for all the positive feedback guys! I'm glad you all are liking it so far. More pics should be up in a few days. P.S. still looking for a name!
It's looking great man. I really like the idea. As for the suicide thing, I am not home so I did not get a chance to test the theory. If it doesn't work you could maybe put kill balls around the block. Then it would be a suicide. Will be looking forward to the map being completed. If you need testers, send me a message. Edit: Why are you worried about the budget? Did anyone ever show you how to money glitch items. I know a way where I can money glitch items at pretty much anytime during the production of a map. If you need some tips, just PM me.
If you could some way have the alpha get have warthogs available and the rest of the zombies get mongees that would be my best bet. Because 4 warthogs headed for a small platform is alittle much.
Yeahh.. Im well aware of the budget glitch. I've used it on all my previous maps that either were scrapped or aren't finished yet (including my EPICly huge cn tower for the wonders of the world contest ). But this time I just felt like trying my hand at a non-glitched map. Kind of a stupid reason, I know... lol but I will probably end up glitching some of the more important objects just to be safe Actually, the warthogs are the perfect size. They are not too big and can be dodged fairly easily if you are paying attention. Mongeese are WAY too small and easy to dodge, thus making it dull and not challenging. Warthogs are the perfect size for this, don't worry
I just realized that this idea is basically Ice Cream Man with a big jump. That's not a bad thing. Maybe you can call the map Stunt Man or something. Edit: Or Dare Devils
Ok, so I finally got new pics up. It's not much, but lemme know what you guys think. Also its pretty much ready for testing so if you are interested message me.
I haven't read all of the thread...but, This map looks epic (especially the rings), but honestly it seems like it would get dull after a couple games... And how are you running out of money?
Thanks metawaddledee, and about the money thing, I honestly don't know. This is the first time I haven't used a glitched canvas and the budget has really caught up to me unexpectedly. I think I've only got $40 left now, wierd
A good start and idea. Having multiple launch ramps and vehicles that you could fly off of when you have lots of people would be insane.
Alright, so I've thought alot about it, and two ramps really would work better than one. So I'm gonna start to work on that soon. But before I do that I want to make sure that everything else is working just fine. So I'm setting up a umm... super duper beta beta test tomorrow at 4pm central (5 pm eastern) to test the first ramp. I'm going to need as many testers as I can get. If you are able to be on tomorrow let me know on here or send me a FR (my gamertag is CV41) or tell me your gt and I will message you when it's time
