Is anyone else having trouble with their game freezing going into the Nether? Game-breaking? Hardly. The game became a whole hell of a lot more involved after all of those features in 1.8 were included. Yea they were a bit buggy (as most new features tend to be) but they most certainly enhanced the game. People can say what they want, but hunger most certainly makes it easier to keep your health up and XP gives you a reason to try and not to die. Plus ravines, strongholds, mines, pistons, enhanced lighting systems, Endermen, enchanting, etc. The list goes on and on and on. So in light of your shortsightedness, the improvements made to the game vastly outweigh the minor bugs in between. This would be coming from someone who played the game, update to update, from 1.3 to the current update, then back to 1.6.6 and I can safely say I certainly prefer later versions.
It seems like there arent as much content for the 360 as the PC version but its still fun nonetheless. I think I might buy this game for PC also. Mods and different texture packs seems like a lot of fun...
I've played minecraft for the first time on Xbox 360 and im already addicted! So I already know the game is about $27 for PC version, but what are the minimum spec requirements for the game?
Creative mode wasn't a part of the version they ported to the Xbox. I imagine it will be included in future updates unless the 360 can't handle the size of it. I doubt that though. Hopefully they don't charge extra for it D:
No but I don't think creative mode appeared on the pc version until 1.8 or possibly even retail release 1.
Why is this game fun? I've heard the rave about it on PC, and now half my friends on xbl are playing it instead of some AAA game. To me, it just seems like any other RPG except it has horrible graphics and you can play with friends. So, why do people play it? I'm not bashing the game at all. I would like you to let me know why you think the game is fun so I can decide if I want to try it out or not.
Why did millions of people play farmville, or hundreds of millions play angry birds? It is a relaxing, simplistic game that does what it does very well. Unlike those two other games, the amount you get out of Minecraft is much more scalable to the amount of effort you into it. People have made working computers, near perfect replicas of world wonders and movie props/sets, or giant penises, all within minecraft. Or you can just play the game to survive each night, build up your house, and find every diamond that there is to find. The "play as you want" style translates very well to gaming fans who are tired of linear, scripted, stories and gameplay mechanics that force them to what the developers wanted them to do. Even sandbox games have that limitation because even though you can pick what missions in a sandbox you want to do, in the end, it is still a linear result. Something happens at the beginning, the middle, and then the end. Minecraft, (even though "The End" was introduced giving Minecraft an end goal) is devoid of any such linearism. For people who say, "Minecraft looks like a game from the 80's" and can't enjoy it because of its graphics, they are missing the point of the game. For a procedurally generated world as large as Minecraft to have current HD graphics in the like of Crysis would require more ram and hard drive space then any computer on the market and is also just not the style of Minecraft. You wouldn't state a cell shaded game like Zelda Windwaker a poor graphics game because of the style it was going for, the same is true of Minecraft. Its style can be bolstered by HD texture packs that actually make the world look pretty beautiful while still keeping Minecraft's style. Then there is the continual support and added content to the game with mods and proper updates. Essentially what Counter Strike did for shooters, Minecraft did for open world creation games.
People play minecraft because there is almost no end of what you can do.you can build anything or do anything.the game is great because of the creativity players put into the game. Plus as long as you can think of something to build there is always a goal.think of a game where you unlocked everything.you were satisfied then you may have lost interest. This will never happen in minecraft.as long as your able to think of something you can build something.you won't get boared of minecraft because it is able to be changed by the player.
So that means I can use my macbook. It as 4 gb of ram, but the video card has 256 mb of memory. I wonder if that would affect the performance of the game?
i have a macbook from like '08 with 4 gigs of ram. let's just say minecraft and mac arent exactly the best of friends.
"late 2008 mbp" with 256mb video card, 8 gigs of RAM, 4 dedicated to MC. It runs just fine. the only thing is you have to restart your computer before you play to reset the RAM buildup from normal usage of the computer (downside of macs :C)
basically what waterfall said your only limited by your imagination. and when u learn the finer points of redstone you can do thing you cant even imagine. Like an ingame graphic calculator that works. but yeah if u get bored playing that game u have no imagination or its just not ur type of game. Since this a forging website im guessing it appeals to a large percentage of the members. You'll only really understand minecraft after playing for a long time. its learning curve is random really. you just need to know recipes. p.s. graphic wise i just use 128x128 HD texture pack and if u want there are filters and mods for even better graphics
Yes the graphics can be changed to ANYTHING you want that's why I love minecraft I am in complete control over everything.its kind of like free roam in GTA I think it's more fun because you are not traveling along a set path, rather you pave your own road that goes anywhere you want.
