I think your friend doesn't know what he's talking about... There's been literally no news about this whatsoever.

 

I payed attention to 3% of that video because of his accent. not racist

I still can't tell whether or not Optifine is good or bad on a slow computer.

 

Most of the time it's good, but sometimes it's bad. Go for it, it'll probably help you.

 

The newest snapshot has a jungle biome... They are amazing... Favorite update in a loooooong time.

Now all we need is monkeys.

 

There's Testificates, they look like monkeys.

 

Testificates look nothing like monkeys, they are cavemen squidwards. Monkeys would be cool, but they should find a way to keep them up in the trees. Banana Trees anyone?

 

Not gunna lie, the jungle biome is pretty cool, but is there a reason for it?

 

Variation is its only reason currently. Which I am absolutely fine with. Maybe in the future there will be practical, jungle-only, features that will draw people into them.

 

yeah, thats what I was thinking. Its the same with the swamp biomes. Right now they're just there for the sake of being there, and they end up annoying me more than helping me.

 

Swamps are ugly though, the jungle biome actually looks nice. I'm okay with something looking nice just "being there", it's when it looks stupid and is pointless that it annoys me.

 

Jeb said that the AI dude was gonna make a jungle Specific Mob next Snapshot I believe.

 

It adds a new wood block type and being able to climb vines, not to mention how great super tall 2v2 trees with multiple leaf sprouts look. They're also going to add wild jungle animals apparently.

I thought they were slowing down work on minecraft to speed up work on newer things...

 

The new wood block and new leaves are new features I suppose, although it doesn't actually accomplish anything new. Vines aren't jungle specific, but I love being able to climb them.

Jungle animals are the way to go!

 

I gotta check out this jungle biome if its available right now. Problem is, my computer still lags like crazy when I load up Minecraft, even after installing Optifine. Turns out I only have 1 GB for RAM, which will only give me 5 FPS or so, even with Optifine .

 

Wow, A lot of work has been done to the game since I've last played it.. I wish my laptop would run faster than 2 fps.. i just formatted it yesterday too -.- .... I think last time i played it was when pistons were finally introduced into the game.
