I'm planning on getting a new mic for my xbox. I looked at many different possibilities including the official MLG one and Triton's, but none fit my price range. I came across turtle beach and saw some great price tags. One was 60$ and the other is 100$. Here are the two that I am considering.

    Ear Force X3

    Ear Force X1

and if it is just completely assume I may consider buying the more expensive one!

    Ear Force X4

For the most part I just want to be comfortable while playing for long periods of time. i also need something that is good for MLG and competitive gaming.

Anything else you guys could recommend would be great!

What's wrong with the regular 360 wired/wireless mic? They are comfortable enough, and they don't have those hugeass speakers covering up your ears.

Although, I would recommend the one with surround sound because it feels like you are actually in the game and when an enemy is shouting at you from 3 o' clock high, you can ****ing tell that he is shouting from 3 o' clock high. Or something. Your TV probably already has it though. The next best one is the wireless one.

I have the X3's and I love them. They have great sound quality and also a bass booster lol. Great for call of duty and tactical games because you can hear footsteps and such. Also you can play late at night without waking anyone up who is sleeping. But they do get a little toasty if you play for long periods of time. Great headset though.

I know way too much about headsets ;D

OK, so just a few things to clear out of the way before so you can get the best you can get with your money?
-Do you go to LANs often, or travel a lot?
-Can you and your play area work with wires
-Do you have an HD cord from your 360 (comes with the newer versions of the Pros and all Elites)
-Level of competitiveness (casually competitive, very competitive, etc)

If you can handle the wires, I'd highly recommend the Tritton AX Pro. I use it, Roche uses it, it's awesome. It's $150, and true surround sound, unlike the X3, which is simulated. If you have to go wireless, you can get a refurbished X4 for $150. I don't recommend the X3 if your playing more than casually competitive as the sound is not actually surround (it doesn't do a great job of simulating it), and the earcups rest on your ears, not around them. The X4 and AX Pro go around your ears for a better sound and far more comfort. Soundwise, the AX is slightly better, but the X4 is wireless. Both good picks depending on your situation.

If your playing competitively, a real surround sound really helps your game. So, if you can drop an extra $50 you'll be much better off.

i think the Microsoft wireless mics best too.
they are very small and can talk s**t like 12 hours without loading it.
