Hello hubbers! Today we bring you a long overdue map pack, dubbed the Memorial Map Pack in memory of The Halo Council. These maps were initially submitted to be a part of THC's first map pack, but the site went down before it could be released. Rather than let this map pack go, we decided to give these maps the recognition and appreciation they deserve by releasing the Memorial Map Pack here at Forge Hub. Two 2v2 maps and two 4v4 maps were chosen. A big thanks goes out to all the forgers that submitted their maps. A special thanks to WARHOLIC for making this contest possible and honoring its prizing. We’re happy to announce that each winner will be given a choice of 4000 MS points or a free year of XBOX Live. 2v2 Winners Titan By SpinCycle and Hahka (thealm0ndkiller and Hahkarazy) Titan just keeps hitting up front pages all over the interwebz and it is well deserved. A spiritual successor to Quake's Aerowalk, Titan is a fast-paced, atrium-based 2v2 map sporting complex sightlines, minimalist layout and tons of verticality. Spin and Hahka created a competitive atmosphere here on Ravine and while it has serious competitive merit, it is also extremely well forged with consistent textures, time-consuming precision editing and good contrast. Great job guys! Titan Thread Sleuth By IIITYRANTIII Dubbed 'generic looking' by it's creator, Sleuth is far from generic in it's design and gameplay. The forging on Sleuth is clean and consistent with strong contrast. This is about as clean and good looking a map you will find in H4. It's a multilevel map with great movement options, varied lines of sight, and ideal weapon placement that keeps you on your toes at all times. The Sniper Rifle and Railgun are the obvious power weapons, but the Speed boost/Suppressor combo can wreak havoc if you manage to nab both at the same time. Sleuth Thread 4v4 Winners Aegis By dhg redemption Redemption's Aegis sports unique object usage, combining structural and natural pieces in a way that sets it far ahead of its contemporaries. The map's texture palette features rocks that mesh well and often double as intuitive tactical jumps. Built in the vein of Guardian, Aegis has smooth, circular flow and non-stop action. Know where your teammates and enemies are at all times or the opposing team will punish you mercilessly. Aegis Thread Graphite By SH1FTY From the opening rush until the final cap, Graphite Capture the Flag is a fast moving, fluid experience that you don't want to miss out on. Bee-line it to the opponents base or head to top gold to establish map control; there are multiple viable strategies on Graphite that always keep if feeling fresh. Graphite Thread -Congratulations to IIITYRANTIII, Spin, Hahka, Redemption and SH1FTY! Your prizes are a choice of 4000 microsoft points or 1 year subscription to Xbox Live for top 4. -Special thanks to Warholic for organizing, testing, judging and directing, Sethiroth for assisting with testing and judging and DualWieldingGamers for the awesome videos. -Brought to you by DuelWieldingGamers, THC and Forge Hub. -"It's been real."
haha congratulations to Tyrant, Redemption and Shifty!!! This was long overdue.. it's too bad that it couldn't be released on THC.
Haha, it's finally out! Thanks for putting up the article. Oh, and I would like to say that the Wilhelm Scream is still there in the Aegis and Graphite video. Grats to all the winners!
I'm gonna get all sentimental now...I want to extend a personal thank you towards WaiHo, Hahka, Spincycle, thefro3po, TymeLapse, Shifty, Llama, Limey, Mylesprevost, Tyrant, Redemption, power raanger, s0uldier, Paints, and Squally, for submitting a solid bunch of maps. This map pack really was a community effort, with countless hours of testing put in to help everyone refine their submissions. I know Nitro, Fated, and thefro3po in particular organized TONS of testing. The fruits of your labor show not only in the high quality maps submitted to the contest, but also in the numerous maps that were eventually disqualified due to their implementation into matchmaking. The fact that you spent so much time helping other people improve their maps is a testament to your character. You guys are awesome. Then, of course, we have Warholic, who basically ran the whole damn thing. Without him, this project never would have been released. There's really not enough I can say about your part in this War. On top of organizing, testing, and judging, you provided the prizes. Much appreciation. You da man War!
