    Intro:

Hello everybody, once again I am here to post another one of my maps on ForgeHub! For those of you who've seen my past maps (Mafia), (Fallsview Retreat) and (Venice) I hope that structurally and aesthetically you can see some improvements in my construction styles. So, before I begin, I would quickly like to describe the origin of this map. To be honest, when I started this map I primarily wanted to make an Infection map (as I had just beaten Left 4 Dead 2), but I simply couldn't come up with a good design. So, I simply made stuff up as I went and eventually created a volcano-type structure. I continued from there and then the idea of the gametype Molten Men came to mind and i just went wild with creation. Anyways, now I'll show you all the end result of this randomly created map and I hope that you all enjoy it!

    The map (Meltdown):

As i said above, the entire map is made within a volcano. The back-story I invented for the map goes like this: The UNSC, in its everlasting war with the Covenant, is searching for any potential power source they can tap into to gain the upper hand in battle. They eventually discover a long dormant, ancient and powerful volcano that yields such a potential source of energy. They rapidly establish a facility within, drilling holes in different areas to build offices and labs. A few years later, suddenly and without reason, the dormant volcano re-awakens and the facility is evacuated. *So, the layout of the maps follows exactly this little story of mine. The main area is the volcano, recently awakened, that shows lava boiling under its rocks, illuminating the main area of the volcano. There is a pathway which leads almost to the top, where a teleporter connects it to the lab room. At the base of the volcano an underground passage, now made nearly pitch-black because of the power outage, links the area to the lab room, while another, now almost buried passage, links to the control room. The control room is small and houses a now non-functioning communicator. The lab room, in contrast, is larger and has both the teleporter connected to the volcano, along with a large television now posting a warning of imminent eruption. From the lab room, and the darkened hallway, the dormitories can also be accessed. These are filled with two bunk-beds a power-stand and a malfunctioning television. Throughout the map, much is hidden in darkness. Players must use the emergency light (certain pillars that glows on and off) to guide themselves throughout the volcano.

    The gametype (Molten Men):

I would quickly like to mention that in most of the pictures we (the players) are not playing Molten Men, but rather FFA slayer, just so I could show all of the main weapon spawns within the map. However, the best gametype to play this map with is definitely Molten Men. On another note, I also had a small story for the gametype. It goes like this: The eruption which caused the evacuation of the volcano was not random. With all the drilling done by the UNSC, creatures never heard-of, were awakened within the magma deep below the crust of the planet. These children of the flames now run infinitely across the abandoned facility, fighting each other for dominance of this new territory. *So, as I've mentioned in the story, each player has a bottomless clip of both sprint and Energy Sword. To mess with everyone's minds, all the players are red (like to volcano's magma) and no names are displayed. However, to avoid camping, everyone has a radar. Lastly, I'd like to mention that if played in FFA, it can be tempting to try to jetpack out of the volcano by one of the two opening but I implore you not to try as the Kill boundaries are not very lenient on this map.

As I hope the screenshots show, the dark map allows for some pretty amazing gameplay. While in FFA, firing your weapons can be an effective way of lighting up certain areas, if the emergency lights are not enough to guide you. But in Molten Men, you are at the mercy of your opponents' skills as they can be very hard to spot pretty much anywhere in the map. The high intensity and fast paced combat of Molten Men has gotten great responses from my testers. The map, along with the prefered gametype (Molten Men), have been described as amazing and extremely fun. I hope that any of you who download it can have as much fun as we did testing it!

    Weapon list:

*In Molten Men, no weapons appear in-game.
    Sniper rifle: 1
    Shotgun: 1
    Grenade launcher: 1
    Concussion rifle: 1
    Needler: 1
    Plasma pistol: 1
Other weapons (DMR and Magnum): Multiple

    Conclusion:

Well, i believe that is all I have to show you all about my map Meltdown! Please leave your feedback, be it positive or simply some constructive criticism, I will take note of it and, if I haven't already realised it since I made this map, will add it to my standards for future maps.

As I mentioned above, mainly to the people who have been following my prior maps, I hope you can all see some improvement in my skills with the Forge. My next post (which should take a little longer then the last few) will highlight my first infection map, which also happens to be my most popular map ever!
