Marine Fortress Created by Raspberrypicker Map Description It is still a great mystery concerning the origins of Marine Fortress. It seems someone built this place to be well defended against a dreaded invader. Regardless of its once powerful defenses, the security of the fortress has been compromised due to rising water levels. Some even wonder if Marine Fortress was even originally built on water. However, negating the creator's original intentions for the fortress and the whole first floor being flooded, the fortress has stood strong in defiance of Mother Nature. ---------------- Forger's Note: This is my first Halo: Reach map and I'm very satisfied with it. If you have any issues with it, please let me know so I can fix it and avoid such problems with future maps. This map is intended to be played with 1 Flag CTF, but Slayer works too. I think an objective based game would be more enjoyable on this map because it encourages people to use warthogs and mongooses. Vehicles will allow for faster travel and they do provide some good fun when flying off ramps. Originally, the vehicles were not a lot of fun because the driving got really technical. I fixed this problem by widening paths and increasing the success rate of landing jumps. Also, weapons that can do serious damage to vehicles are scarce on the map. Due to the layout of the map, grenades and plasma pistols will be sufficient in taking down vehicles. ----------------------- How do I get in? You have a few different options when gaining access to Marine Fortress Travel by foot, jeeps, caves, or even an underwater tunnel! Brush up on your driving skills so you can make a quick get away (Good drivers are especially valuable in CTF) Your jeep is a rugged vehicle, use it to gain an advantage over your opponents When you capture the flag of the mighty water fortress, bring it back to land base Hope you have as much fun with this map as I did making it!
