Map and Gametype Exclusive Idea: PLEASE look at this...

    I have just thought of an idea for a map and Gametype and want to ask if it is a good idea.

    I will get the Gametype out of the way first, players would have no shields or armour abilities by default, but would only be armed with a magnum. A few weapons will be spread around the battlefield, but will have no spare clips, nor will they spawn quickly. So people will have to scavenge for the weapons.

    The map idea is a little Intresting. Im sure we all watched the Destiny ViDoc a while back. The idea is based of that ruined building in the forest at the end of the ViDoc, it obviousivly won't be completly identical but maps with ruin like feel (temples or really old buildings) are a bit of a favourite.

    Let me know if the idea works. The only proberlem Ive noticed is the magnums and the lack of shields. So any advice would be appreciated.

    I did pretty much the same thing when I got in to Reach. I never did much with it though. I found the magnum only spawns made for unbalanced (though rewarding) gameplay where one could get all the perks by finding them and another person only gets killed. The detail of the map you told us of was pitiful and so I can't say if that's a good one or not.

    I might use Assualt rifles instead, you can't headshot with them and it will force you to find a better weapon, even if it was a magnum.

    As for the map, it would be based around a central tower that would have the occasional hole in it. With a bridge or two being a way to reach it. Smaller buildings would like to these bridges which will also have been damaged. Rocks would scatter the ground around the tower and the 2-4 buildings and a gravity lift would allow people access to the top of the tower. Overall it would be a symmetrical map. Weapons ranging from pistols to snipers will be scattered around the map, occasionally hidden away. A wall would separate the play space from the rest of the map, say Ravine.

    There already a gametype like this... Swat. Only difference is you're changing the weapons. Don't take the wrong way. With a good map to go along with and good settings it could be fun. I enjoy ruin like maps. for the gametype you'd wanna boost the damage resistance if your no shields.

    In what was an idea to make a CS:GO spin off gametype, I thought of this exact same idea o_O It certainly would change the way people fight, everyone would be rushing towards the assault riffle lol. Here was my idea to add on to that...

    To make it more CS:GO-esk you could probably make it so that to mimic "buying" a weapon by using the ordinance system. Now a sort of honor rule would be to only "buy" an ordinance directly as a round starts when you are with your team.

    The only problem would be is if the ordinance caries over by round. Like if a round ends will the bar still be as full as it was?

    You could use a weapon dispenser that requires grenades as currency. Then just have the grenades be rare spawns. Someone last week built one and was looking for a use for it. Can't seem to find the thread now. I know it wouldn't allow for previous rounds accomplishments to carry over, but at least it would take a little more skill than whoever runs to the weapon first gets the toy.

    This sounds exactly like the "Scavenger" game type in Battlefield 3. Pistol spawn, random weapons littered around map, only one mag in each. I dig it; but i'm new here lol, what do i know.
