I dont know if you were going for the 'ruined' look, because the boxes look very well put together, if not a little unalligned.

The general shape is awesome, if not lacking something a little more attractice in the centre area.

Also i know this looks like its fro aysmmetrical gametypes, but for symmetrical gametypes the red team looks like they have a real advantage. Its a good idea to add some small cover for the other team,

Other than that its spot on, i will DL, play tonight and get back to you.

The map is doesn not work well with symmetrical gametypes, you are right. I diidn't build it too, it'd be like paying multi-flag on Last Resort, just doesn't work. And hopefully you will find the Idol more attractive when you actually play it, as i feel its pretty nice to look at while raining hell on your opponents. And i wasn;t going for the ruined look... it was influenced by the ancient civilization, which is now in ruins (obviously). We don't have that kind of power in Forge to tackle something like ruins... hopefully one day. Lookin forward to hearing what you thought about it after you give it a few goes. Make sure to play some Incan Capture.

Thanks, yeh the actual photo is pretty epic, when i saw it i knew i had to include it. Its interesting that the elbow and right side are your favorites, becuase thats the very first thing i built. weird how that works out. thanks for the feedback homie.

Thanks! Yeh it works really well, not gonna lie I impressed myself a bit with that one haha

Sorry to hear about the RROD, that sucks. Yeh the Idol when making it i tried a ton of different things... none of which really worked all that well. Started with merging some boxes into the ground at odd angles and trying to make something of it but it just wasn't happening. I kinda feel how the top 2 stairs, how they are parallel and only inches apart reminded me a bit of forerunner architecture. At least I think so a bit. The Regenerator really adds to it too. Glad you liked it!

This map looks really good. Pretty open in the center area, but I know that's what you were going for. I'm downloading and I will get back to you once I play a game on it.

Yeah, this map was pretty awesome when we helped you test it out. It looks like you finnaly got the flags to start working! :p

As said before, I like how you used the corner walls as stairs. However, the hard to reach sniper is kinda unfair for people who havn't played the mpa before.

Its always unfair if you don't know, isn't it? thats why I included the picture and caption. I do see what you are saying though, any spots you can think of that might be better and more user-friendly? im open to suggestions

Know what I was thinking? Very small, but it would have been cool if the regen falls from the statue god to the ground, just have it spawn in the air and it falls, its fine the way it is, was just looking at it last night and thought about it.

    Re: Machu Picchu

LIGHTS, we played this tonight before you joined our party. It started out as a 2v2 Incan Capture but it ended up 3v3. But it was pretty balanced and fun the whole time. The quick respawn times helped out the defenders, but the long flag return time helped balance that out. Also, I thought that it was a little easy to camp while on defense. The attackers seemed to rush in blind and get surprise attacked, but maybe that was just their lack of strategy.

One of the best parts of the game was when I watched my teammate NeverlessWonder kill an enemy by shooting up the double box, and a moment later the body came crashing to the ground. It was pretty funny.

Overall, nice map. I like it a lot better than T.T. Let me know the next time you get a game going on this map.

    Re: Machu Picchu

Wow. Thats actually a great idea. It'd be awesome to walk by the Idol and suddenly see it drop, as if its, like DTL says, a gift from the Gods. I really like that idea, and I'll probably change it soon.

Did you have any suggestions as to where to move the Beam Rifle too? I think you are right, it might be better with it more accessible.

Yeh i see what you're saying, but I think it might have just been a poor strategy, or lack thereof. I mean how much strategy can you have when playing a map for the first time? Not knockin anyones Halo 3 ability, just sayin ya know? A coordinated strike with 2 or 3 players can get the flag out of the temple. But like you said, the 3 second respawn times still leave the Defense a pretty good chance of returning it, IF they work together. Did the Beam Rifle or Flare play a factor at all in your game? I know they are a bit hidden, and I am debating on whether or not to cahnge their locations. Any thoughts or suggestions?

What, no picture story? Haha jk, glad you liked it! I'll definitely send a message your way next time I get a game goin.

I just played it last night and it was one of the most creative maps I've seen. It seemed so much bigger than Foundry in my opinion.

    Re: Machu Picchu

Appreciate it man, it supports 4v4 well. I haven't tried having more than 8 in the map at once yet... not too sure how well it would play out. But 8 works beautifully. Glad you liked it!

This is in fact the one we played CTF on. That game was a blast, not to mention really helpful in the testing process. Thanks for the recommendation bro, appreciate it alot. i put ALOT of time into it, I'm glad people are enjoying it. I'll send you in invite next time we have a game goin on it!

I love this map. It is truly beautiful. I'm glad I downloaded it.
Those ruins look better that ANY man-made structure I've ever seen. The Incans were geniuses. Wow.

Thanks, but this isn't Aztec work, its Incan. Similar cultures in some aspects, but they are in separate countries, and never really encountered each other I'm pretty sure.

Haha yeh I'm pretty sure I am gonna make that switch with the Regenerator so it falls down from within the Idol. Its a great idea. I'll try and get an update out in the next couple days.

In the meantime, I wanted to show a couple more pics of Machu Picchu, one of which i specifically tried to mimic in my map:

The shape of the Defensive Temple I tried to model a bit after this. The right side i turned 90 degrees for the elbow. You can see the layout is somewhat similar... obviously I couldn't do as many terraces do to both resource and space constraints, but you can kinda see where it came from.

I didn't use this picture to model the map after, but it captivated me none-the-less. Do you see the face?
