Lotus Islands V3 Reference to the song "Lotus Island" by Buckethead Lotus Island V3- My final map to the 3 "Lotus Islands" maps and I have made it in the fashion I could. Whats new about it your thinking probably? Well what I have done is made it playable yet still at a standstill where people will enjoy it. Here is the always lovely overhead view picture for your viewing: *As you can see it has completely changed from its original yet still keeps the idea. Looking forward to DLing and doing a run-through tonight, I will start up a game with my Halo friends tomarrow morning. The map looks good from the screenshots, but I usually like seeing weapon placements so I have the upperhand on my MLG buddies.
This looks awesome, the bridge underneath reminds me of narrows a bit. You say it works with all gametypes? I'm guessing it works better with assault, slayer and CTF. I like the way you have used the 2 floors, this would make it very good for CTF and assault because of alternate routes. The weapon balance is also good.This is a very clean and well thought out map. I like the changes you made for the V3, I never saw the v2 and I don't know when you added that bridge underneath, but I like it. Removal of the banshees and changing the ghosts to mongeese (?) was definitely a smart move. Unlike the other versions, this one gets my DL. Nice job. Edit: Only 2 downloads, that's harsh.
I really like the two pyramid idea and it looks very smooth overall. My only gripe is I think there might be a few too many weapons. I don't see what the point of two maulers and two shotguns is but I have yet to test it so we'll see. I'll give it a DL but from what I can tell thus far it looks like a good map.
Ah I see your edditing has paid off. Your map now has multiple routes, gaurd rails a better weapon layout, better vehicle choices as well as weapons. Overall it was nice to see this map grow and improve. In my opinion it looks much better as well. I'm a little frusterated to see so many I'm downloading responses with so few downloads. I will really be down loading and I'm glad you took some of my advice along with others. The progression of this map really shows your progression as a forger and I think this will be that point where you can look back and admire your map instead of thinking I could have done this much better. You've addressed every problem that I could think of and I must say this is a job well done.
So since my newest map is named Lotus, i felt motivated to check out each of your three versions of this map. They are getting better everytime. But the way you are posting this is all wrong. Making Lotus i must have tested and revised it 10 times, but i did not post a new map version after each edit. You should use the testers guild and then make changes and test again. When you finally have a test that goes nearly perfect, then put on the finishing touches and release the map. I sure hope i dont see a v4 of this map.
