I didn't have a lot of experience forging in Halo 3 since the controls were just awful, and I'm still playing with Reach's new tools. But I wanted to get some opinions on what people thought about the map I've been working on. My idea so far is a multi-level area with lots of catwalks. It has three levels the top is the largest and where I plan to have both teams spawn, then the medium sized middle area, and finally the small pool at the bottom. Old screens Spoiler Full view from the loadout camera The top middle section The walkway to the sides of the bases on the top level Buildings on the outside of the top level The middle area and sword spawn The room below the middle platform The ramp leading up the the middle after being redesigned and the building right after it And finally the bottom pool after falling through the above rooms floor Also added the weapons. x1 Rocket 1 clip 60 seconds x1 sniper 1 clip 60 Seconds x1 Sword 60 Seconds x2 Shotguns 1 clip 45 Seconds x2 Concussion rifle 1 clip 45 Seconds x2 Plasma Repeater 30 seconds x2 Assault Rifle 3 clips x2 Needler 2 clips 30 seconds x2 DMR 2 clips 30 seconds x2 Needle Rifle 2 clips 30 seconds x2 plasma Pistol 30 seconds x4 *** Grenades 15 seconds x4 Plasma Grenades 15 seconds
It's hard to get a good idea of how the map would play from only a few wide shots, but it's visually pleasing. I'm not sure about those ramps in the third picture, though. Having them sticking out so far into the walkway seems like it might be frustrating during a firefight.
Neat looking, good forging. It's a little hard to tell how it would play. I like the pool - I take it players can walk in that?
It's definitely visually pleasing- I am also concerned about the ramps sticking so far out in the third picture. Try flipping the bridge ramps over- you'd be surprised how well that works. I'm also worried about how similar the two facing bases are- do you have a light or any scenery to differentiate the two?
Thanks for some of the tips and yes the pool is deep enough you can completely go under water without dying. And I flipped the ramps over but it still kind of creates a raised and lowered section along the walkway. I'll get some better screenshots soon. Added after 4 Hours 5 minutes: Added new screenshots and listed weapons on map. If anybody wants to help playtest some Team Slayer and Oddball let me know.
