I've never actually played the original Lockout (and never got to play much of Blackout) so I'm not really in a position to comment on the gameplay accuracy of this remake. However, on the aesthetics side of things you've done a good job of making it look nice, instead of piling a load of uneven walkways and ramps together just to try and get the jumps working. With regards to scale, I wouldn't worry TOO much about getting it perfect like Stevo has mentioned. I do know what he's saying though, and if a remake can achieve perfect scale and perfect jumps then it's definitely a better one. @ OP - If you feel like you have enough time before the contest ends, I'd definitely try and remake a perfect scale.
I never really understood the hate on blackout (other than the lack of places to take cover w/o worrying about getting sniped) It looks like a great remake, will you be making a custom gametype as well?
How do you mean, "custom game"? If you want to whip up a gametype like BR start, 4 shot kills etc. then it shouldn't take too long to do that. I don't really think a specific gametype is necessary since it's buillt for default slayer (just make sure not to play Slayer Pro because that disables any non-Ordnance weapons). Also, I'll be looking to make some tweaks to the map soon I think. Perhaps to add some things like dominion wires and tidy up any issues.
You're just gunna add dominion wires? Why? Just because you can? You should be trying to remove any unwanted pieces, not add more. Plus, I didn't see any wires on Lockout :s They look amazing I know, but let's not just add them in there cause you can. If everybody adds wires to their map, they're gunna get old so fast.
For accuracy. Lockout does have wires on the map. I haven't decided yet though whether to add them for budget reasons. I didn't include a decorative piece on grav tower for the same reason.
